First off thanks for using Fixya.com Expert community.

Here are steps to try before chucking this tv in the garbage.

1. unplug the tv from the outlet if you have not already.
2. Plug it back in the outlet and try to give it the power button.

If those steps do not work:

Your going to need a new power supply (kinda expensive)

Click here for a replacement power supply about $90 bucks

I hope you find this site Very Helpful! Thanks for using Fixya.com

DVD Player Only Produces Snow After Power Outage. Halp!

Sounds like your TV has lost the DVD channel. Turn off TV and make sure the DVD player is connected to TV and is playing a DVD. Now put you TV on and press the SOURCE or AV button on your TV remote until you can see the DVD channel. In older TVs you may need select channel and tune it manually using the TV setup.

ILO 2706 TV WONT TURN ON

This TV might have been affected by the power outage even if it was not ON at that moment. There is a standby voltage still present even when OFF and connected to the AC line.
There might be different failures on this TV:
1. The power supply might be defective after the power outage.
2. The main board could also be defective since the power supplies for today's TVs are not well regulated and once the voltage getting to the power supply increases, the standby voltage voltage will also increase damaging voltage sensitive components like the microprocessor or memory circuitry.

Let me know if you require further assistance.
