I have a 13 inch as well and recently found that it stopped working.... i checked everything and the only thing that was left to guess was that the sub i spent 860 f.....g dollars on is now blown bc the voice coil burnt up. like the other guy said, its is a flat rate of like 550 dollars for any repair on a w7. p.s. if u push down on the sub and it makes a crunching sound...... then its def. toasted

I looked up the correct way to wire my JL 13.5W7 1.5. Therefore it said to wire it in parrallel. I understand this will put it at .75 ohm. As I start to turn it up it sounds great, very loud but once the...

1000/1v2 Class D Monoblock Subwoofer Amplifier Specifications:
  1000/1v2

Rated Power:
1000 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm - 4 ohm (11V-14.5V)

THD at Rated Power:
<0.05% @ 4 ohm

S/N Ratio:
>95dB below rated power (A-weighted, 20 Hz - 20 kHz noise bandwidth)

Frequency Response:
5 Hz - 250 Hz (+0, -1dB)

Damping Factor:
>500 @ 4 ohm / 50 Hz

According to the chart your amp is only stable down to 1.5 Ohms, so running at .75 Ohms the noise you are hearing is the amp clipping (running more power than it can handle at low ohms)
I would suggest wiring it in series, or you could adjust the gain on the amp until the popping goes away.

Hope this helps.

Why doesnt my jl 1000.1 pick up my 13.5w7

ohm load check the way you wired it if the amp can handle 1ohm make the sub 1 ohm dule 2 ohm subs hook the neg from one coil to the pos on the other then take the empty neg hook it bridged to the neg on the amp and empty pos to the pos on the amp also check to see if you hooked it up bacwards subs dont hit hard when they are beating in and not out

JL 13w7 & 1000/1 Settings

There is no "perfect" setting that can be placed in a manual. It's all done by ear. Your settings will vary depending on the vehicle you are in, the type of enclosure you have, the type of music you listen too, how much voltage your deck put's out. There are many variables, but I can try to give you a basic guide.

First of all you need to know your enclosure. If you have a ported enclosure tuned in the mid to low 30's you may want to set the low pass to around 70-80 hz with your sub sonic set at 30 hz. this will give you the higher bass frequency you need for the loud bass you want, and protect the sub from going too far below the tuned frequency of the enclosure, and losing it's composure.

As far as the gain, and bass boost are concerned, you just have to adjust them by ear. First adjust the radio volume to normal listening levels, by that I mean as loud as it can go without the speakers in the car sounding like ****. Now you adjust the gain first. slow turn the gain control, carefuly watching and listening to the sub.. Adjust the gain to the point of the woofer getting a lil sloppy then back it down a bit until the sound is clean again. Now do the same with the bass boost. if there is a bass boost frequency adjustment, set that as close to the tuned frequency of the box as you can.

If you are in a sealed box the adjustments are a bit easier, and are all about taste. Adjust the radio as described before, and put on your favorite song. Next start udjust thing lowpass frequency to taste, not too high tho, try not us higher than 100 hz in your sub's for better sound. Sub sonic is not quite as important in a sealed box, as there is much less danger of the sub losing control.

Well good luck, and hope this helps!

It doesn't sound like the wiring from amp to sub is your problem.

Is your amp getting a power light ?
Are you sure your remote wire is hooked up properly ?
Check both ends of your RCA cables

Popping

If you Wire the 13 w7 in parallel you get 0.75 ohms which this amp is incapable of handling, that's why your speaker is popping. Be carefull cause this setup could ruin both your amp and sub. You have to wire that sub in series so that the amp "sees" a 3 ohm load which it's best suited for.

Car sound system. only sub is giving off sound. other 4 speakers dont work at all

Could be bad outputs from the back of your head unit or also could be bad rca cables. Make sure the amp is on and powered.
