The short answer is you can't do exactly what you have asked. There are many long answers. Here goes an overview. The data in VB is what you want to report on, that data is in a data base and Crystal Reports is the primo solution.
When you have it working CR and VB will be sharing the same data. VB crunches it and CR tells the world.
Get into CR design mode, for the fields in the reports tell it to use the db you have created and populated using VB .
All of the above is tough and unforgiving. I took a 2 day crash course on CR and left the training with nothing but two large manuals. VB has been my Nemesis for many years.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Crystal reports prints ###### instead of data. What does this indicate?

This is cause by the column size being to small in the print area.
Change the cloumn size or resize the column prior to printing to fix this. You may have to do this several times before you get it to print correctly.

Oracle ODBC connection shows no tables in Crystal Reports, procedures only. I used to see them, but no longer. I can in Access so I know it is not the ID.

i am also experiencing this problem. what i did was i created a new file in the repository folder (in crystal, when you create a new connection), containing the script that will pull all of my needed data.

1. Use with - End With for values

with xlWbk.Worksheets(1)
.Range(.cells(1), .cells(4)).value = "Some Repeated Text"
end with

2. Use following VB code for killing excle at the end:

Private Declare Function FindWindow Lib "user32" Alias "FindWindowA" (ByVal
lpClassName As Any, ByVal lpWindowName As Any) As Long
Private Declare Function PostMessage Lib "user32" Alias "PostMessageA" (ByVal
hwnd As Long, ByVal wMsg As Long, ByVal wParam As Long, ByVal lParam As Long) As
Long

Private Const WM_QUIT = &H12

Sub TerminateExcel()

Dim lpClassName As String
Dim iHwnd As Long
Dim iReturn As Long

lpClassName = "XLMain"
iHwnd = FindWindow(lpClassName, 0&)

If iHwnd Then
iReturn = PostMessage(iHwnd, WM_QUIT, 0&, 0&)
End If

End Sub

View Reports

Hi, There a couple of different way you could do this and I have put two lots of VB code below that you can modify and use. Firstly you create the Combobox list by choosing the option that you will type the values yourself, you then type in all your report names on each line. After that you can then go to the VB code editor and paste my code in and modify it by changing my report names, (Customers) etc to your report names. Make sure you choose the Combobox and the On_Click option in the VB editor to paste the code into.  I like the first method better which checks the value of the Combobox and then opens the corrosponding report in the maximised form. The second method does the value check before running an assigned macro to open each report. With this you must first assign macros to each report in Access.  Remember each of these bits of code must be placed between the "Private Sub" heading and the "End Sub" ending, and change the "Combo23" name to reflect your combobox too. If you need a hand just email me.

First Method

If Combo23.Value = "Customers" Then
    DoCmd.OpenReport "Customers", acViewPreview, acWindowNormal
    DoCmd.Maximize

ElseIf Combo23.Value = "Customers 1" Then
    DoCmd.OpenReport "Customers1", acViewPreview, acWindowNormal
    DoCmd.Maximize

ElseIf Combo23.Value = "Customers 2" Then
    DoCmd.OpenReport "Customers2", acViewPreview, acWindowNormal
    DoCmd.Maximize

End If

Second Method

If Combo23.Value = "Customers" Then
   DoCmd.RunMacro "Macro1"
   DoCmd.Maximize
ElseIf Combo23.Value = "Customers 1" Then
    DoCmd.RunMacro "Macro2"
    DoCmd.Maximize
ElseIf Combo23.Value = "Customers 2" Then
    DoCmd.RunMacro "Macro3"
    DoCmd.Maximize
End If

Ms access

Stored Procedures don't exist in MS Access. You do have the following options though. Queries, which are just select or action queries. VB Code, which you can write using Query Objects as if you were writing a Visual Basic application. These can be Functions or Subroutines. In these, you would use the standard programming techniques with while and for loops, etc.

You can create complex situations combining the two of these. A function in the VB code area can accept through parameters, the single values (line by line, record by record) in a query and act on them and manipulate the values.

For example: create a query that does a select phone from address. Create a function in vb called public function StripDashesInPhone(Phone as string) which then uses VB coding to strip dashes from each phone value passed in. To make it all work, in the query on one of the field columns put "NewPhone: StripDashesInPhone([Phone])" and for every record processed in the query, the function is called with the [Phone] field value passed in to the function and the action is processed and returned.

Other than writing a function that is activated by a form button click, which opens the current db and opens a table and process it, just like in VB, this is about as close to cursors and oracle procedures as you get.

I wish it was more, but ...
