Radio stopped working on my infinity gold system in my 1994 Jeep Grande Cherokee. CD still works well though. Not a fuse problem

  • conleyd Jun 24, 2008

the radio on my Infinity Gold system in my 1994 Jeep Grande Cherokee stopped working, but the cd player still works well. Not a fuse problem as the power antenna still raises as it should when the key is turned on. The antenna connection on the back is fine and the system does not have a reset button on it.

Sorry to say I can't offer a quick fix to this one.

Remove the radio from your car take it apart and inspect it for anything broken, if you don't want to take the radio out. Might be best to take the whole car to a repair shop, the guys will figure it out.

or take the radio out and take the radio to a electronics repair shop, all the cables / connections are probably fine, something else burned broken or loose on the inside.

Thank you,
Ekse

or first try reset the whole unit, using the pin hole reset button and then try tuning back some station.

I have power to my factory head unit but there is no sound from the speakers (1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, Infiniti Gold system)

I have the 1995 version and have had the same problem. For some reason, I would be driving down the road and then all of a sudden the sound would cut off. No indications on the radio. For the longest time I drove around without music, then one day I turn the volume up and it worked fine, the unit was resetting itself to the lowest volume setting for some reason.

I pulled the unit, cleaned and tightened all connectors; opened the radio up and resoldered the connection on the power board; and cleaned the connection to the antenna. I don't know which item fixed the problem because I did them all at the same time, but it worked, and so far the problem hasn't returned.

Infinity gold radio seems to work but cant get any sound

It's really hard to answer a question such as this. There's barely enough information to reach any type of conclusion. What kind of Jeep? Cherokee? Grand Cherokee, Wrangler? Renegade? Liberty? I could just keep going. Maybe it's a Willys 1942? I really don't know. However, based on what little information you've provided I'll give a little answer. Fuse. How's that. No. Wait, if it's an infinity system it has a factory amp. If only I knew which year and model...Hmmm, Cherokee's and Grand Cherokees have them under the back seat. Does yours have a fuse in it? I don't know BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT YEAR AND MODEL IT IS.

Radio replacement

alot of the radio will interchange the best way to know is to check the connectors on back of both radio's. they also sell connectors witch allows you to switch them.

Radio stopped working, Cd still works though

I believe that there is an,open connection in your system specifically in your radio. your CD player still plays because it is in another circuit though they share the same speakers. Your rear speaker is also i believe is disconnected. Pls. check your radio components if there are parts that are not functioning.
If this be of help or need more help pls. contact me and i would be glad to help.
P.S. please rate me.
