Check the signal quality if its good on your network properties or you may try connecting your laptop near the wireless hub just to check. If problem still persist try re-installing your wireless device driver.

The internet wont come up on the xbox, it keeps telling me that my wireless pc is unavailable.

what i do is i hook up my ethernet cord from my laptop to my xbox. i then bridge the connections..

(adapter settings -> ctrl + click on both local area network and wireless area network and then right click on one, click "Bridge Connection")

and that's how i get xbox live, using my laptop as the wireless adapter.

On the front of my laptop is a wireless antena on/off switch. Should it always be on and if so, mine is now red. Should I change it?

This is a common question.
The switch should be on whenever using wireless networks.
The option to keep it on is entirely up to you.
Personally I keep mine on just to make it easier when looking for a wireless network. (Less steps)
Good Luck

Hi my problem is, i have wireless internet on my laptop and although the laptop is saying i'm connected to the internet, i can't actually use the internet, it says i'm not connected, i did a troubleshoot...

Hi there,

This normally means that you wireless network has found a network to connect to but it cannot assign anetwork adress because the network you have connect to is security enabled. U need to find our the password or get the network administrator to give you asscess to that particular network. Or you look at another network to connect to.

Regards,

Philip

Keep losing wireless network on laptop. completely disappears and can not find it to reconnect

Hi..
I was having the same issue with my notebook. I was losing connectivity to the internet at both home and office through my browsers and outlook consistantly after boot up for approximately 10 minutes. The only way to get more connectivity was to reboot my machine (ten more minutes). Emachines help desk was no help. Their fix all response was to format the harddrive and start over. What I did to fix it was:

Start
Control Panel
Network Connections
There, I disabled the wireless network connection and waited for the hourglass to go away. Then reenabled it and have had wireless connectivity since.

Good Luck ;-)

My HP wireless doesn't work? I don't have wireless connection on my compaq laptop anymore.

check your wireless adapter is on... the switch is on the front of your laptop and you should show a blue light when it's on, also go into device manager and see network adapters.. you should have 2 (the wire one built-in and your wireless network adapter.. if you only have one network adapter, check the front and see if the light indicating the status of your wireless network adapter is amber.. (if it's showing amber and you're sure it's in the on position you may have a motherboard problem and you may need to send the system back (I just had one of those with a compaq computer and since the item was within warranty the fixed in a week)

if your wireless adapter light is blue and you see your wireless adapter in device manager follow this instructions and you should be ok,

I experienced this problem last night, and seemed to have fixed it this morning.

SYMPTOMS: HP Pavilion dv9000, Win Vista x64 Ultimate. Running on battery, battery level became critical; windows went into 'Hibernate' mode. Upon plugging in to mains power, and resuming the Windows session, the Wireless is still disabled, no matter what position the switch is in.

POSSIBLE CAUSE: Critical battery switches off the wireless network card to preserve power. Motherboard seems to log this status but when re-connecting to mains power the card does not receive power again. Uninstalling the driver and getting Windows to re-install automatically upon re-boot does not work.

SOLUTION: Charge up the battery whilst the computer is running. You can charge it to a substantial level, say, above 25%. Disconnect mains power so that your laptop is running on battery only. Set your wireless switch to OFF (this is usually to the left position, away from the orange indicator). Now run your computer down to the critical battery level again (perhaps overnight). In the morning when you press the power button, the 'CHARGE' indicator (looks like a lightning bolt) on the front of the laptop should flash quickly, indicating that there is no charge in the battery. Remove the battery from the laptop's underside. Wait a couple of seconds, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Keeping the battery off the laptop, reconnect mains power. Boot up your PC. When at the Windows desktop and all your startup programs have finished loading, switch your wireless on (to the right position). You should now have a blue light, and wireless should once again be working. You can now re-insert your battery. You might have to setup your wireless network connection again as mine seemed to be 'lost', but at least hopefully the main problem is now fixed.

Check that the wireless drivers are installed properly on both your laptop and desktop. THe certificate error is because your laptop does not "trust" your computer. Under network conections click add a connection ec, and when you try to conect, microsoft should ask you weva to trust the connections from computer to computer that should do it :D

a couple of question for you, is your wireless secure or did you enable security features like wep or wpa, how many people authorise people are on your network. if not secure, secure your wireless network, hackers like to kick people off their own system, upgrade the firm ware on your router, for the latest compatibility it will fix issues that arise and finally do a bios upgrade on your laptop.
