Lens mechanism isn't good to work properly so camera shut down the power. Try to tap the lens/ camera while power up.

DSC-W150 SteadyShot says turn power on & off & lens pops in/out

I had the same problem with my Sony DSC-W150 camera. It turned out to have an easy fix. At the same time, press the power button and depress the shutter button halfway (the one you snap to take pics) as if you were trying to engage the autofocus without pressing the button down entirely. The lens will attempt to autofucus, which in my case was enough extra power to dislodge whatever debris/sand had clogged the lens. Hope this works for you!

Turn camera off and on again -- fried in outlet

Hi,

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settings 1 Menu of the Camera to OK. This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

The camera mode will not come on to allow me to take photos. It states not available while the camera is docked?

You need to try reconnecting the USB cable to your pc and starting the download of pics again, then go through all the menus of the wizard right to the end so it closes properly before 1) turning the power off on the camera and then 2) disconnecting the usb cable.

First dont turn the power on just press PLAY button from which u see the pics.If it turns on and you are able to see picture display on the LCD  then switch it to pictur taking mode.It means that the problem is in lens. And in doing this procedure it shows nothing on the lcd and not go to play mode and message "TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN"appears Then the problem is in main board.
