from my experiences of formatting stuff like these, i think u should : 1. connect the phone to your computer 2. right click the phone and there u will see an option to format it

For soft reset type *#7780# For hard reset type *#7370# and if it ask passcode enter the passcode as 1234 as default.Please backup all your data if you performing hard reset because hard reset deletes all data on your phone like contacts,messages,music,videos and photos

You can format nokia 6270 becuase no codes of symbian operating system mobile works on it.It is a java based mobile..All you can do is Restore to factory settings in settings...But you can update the nokia 6270 firmware by installing nokia software updater and nokia pc suite...
