The hood / vent fan is controlled by the keypad, but it will also come on when the temperature of the hood area / stove top gets too high.

If it does not go back off by itself after a few minutes, then you probably have a shorted hood fan thermostat.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

My Whirlpool microwave model MH6130XEB-1 made a pop noise and now will no longer heat food. Everything else works fine, clock, timer, fan, turn table, etc. Is this a fuse problem?

It can be the fuse supplying the magnetron, or the magnetron itself which has failed. Another suspect is the high voltage capacitor in this circuit.

Don't try to fix this yourself as the internals of a microwave are dangerous, with high voltages even when unplugged.

I have a whirlpool OTR microwave model MH6130XEB, and have lost all power. There is power to the microwave, but the microwave will not come on. Any ideas?

Call a service guy or if you are up to the project, remove the unit from the area and open it up.
Near where the electrical come into the machine.. there should be a circuit board that may look black because it burnt itself out.
Remove this board and replace it, Put back MW and turn it on

Whirlpool mircowave will not heat

HI, the high voltage capacitor is unstable and, it has damaged the Magnetron. you will need to replace the Magnetron. it will run you about $191.30. this will restore the heating action in your microwave unit.

I replaced the bulbs in the underside of the microwave but the lights still won't turn on, can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong or something else I need to do? It's a whirlpool model # MH6130XEB-1

whirlpool model # MH6130XEB
You did not say if the machine works otherwise.

I gather you replace the bulbs in the ventilation section;
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=260489

Click on the diagram 8 in the left-hand side for ventilation for those bulbs.

Is it plugged in ?

You can check.
Line Fuse
Thermal Fuse
You can find a diagram at;
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=260489

Click on the diagram 5 in the left-hand side for interior parts and another bulb.

You can check;
Switch;
You can take a voltmeter and place it on the bulb contacts and see if voltage is present when the machine is switch on.

Microwave doesn?t turn on

If you're getting power at the outlet, the most common problems causing a "dead" condition are a bad thermostat (or thermal cutout / thermal fuse) on or near the magnetron, a blown internal fuse, or a problerm on the control circuit board. You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 If it seems to be a problem on your control board, we repair these for $39.95 nationwide in most cases. Whirlpool Microwave MH6130XEB

If it's the cooling fan inside the main body of the microwave, I would suspect an open thermistor / temperature sensor. If it's the vent fan (for the grille across the top) then I would suspect the hood thermostat is shorted. The oven should have a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) inside, usually in the control panel frame behind the door open button. It shows these parts and how to test them.
