Question about Kodak EasyShare CX7430 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Easyshare CX7430 Sometimes after using the camera for a while it will turn off with out me doing anything. Like today for example I just put new batteries in it and after making a long video, then deleting it, it won't turn on anymore. The batteries are fine and the light just blinks red and the lens doesn't move. This has happened before a few times. I'm not really sure what to do.

Yep, I've been having the same problem. I know that it not the batteries because I will sit with a package of brand new batteries and keep switching them until the camera stays on long enough to retract the lens. I cannot tell you how many memories were lost because of this camera freezing up. Worst piece of junk that I have ever wasted money on.

Need to format my 4GB sdhc memory card to my Kodak easyshare cx7430....any ideas

I've tried a 4GB memory card in my Kodak CX7430 camera and it doesn't work. I've been able to use any size up to 2GB so I'd suggest going to a 2GB card.

Format sdhc card for Kodak EasyShare CX7430

According to the specs on the Kodak web site, the CX7430 uses SD cards, not SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, there are hardware differences that keep them from working. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Cant get sdhc card to format with kodak eashshare cx7430

Your camera has no support for SDHC, only SD - this in essence means you can put a maximum of 2gb card.

Good luck.

I have Kodak Easy Share CX7430. I have put in new

Enilra, sounds to me like you might have the button that takes the photo stuck in the down position. Without turning on the power, put you finger on the button and press down on it while you move wiggle your finger around. Get a good look at the button and see if You Can See If The Button is returning to the UP Position. Withour seeing your camera in person this would be my guess.

Either your PCB board is damaged, your batteries are old, or your AC adapter is providing higher voltage than the required 3 volts.

My digital camera will not turn on

My problem is now fixed! I put in a fresh set of recently purchased non-rechargeable batteries into the camera.

I was out-of-state visiting my Dad and taking many photos of his things. I ended up replacing my batteries with some he had around the house just prior to the first instance of camera's problem.
[I do not know the age of Dad's batteries!]

I went to Kodak's website [link] www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn027989.jhtml?pq-path=3906/1931

On this page is a heading "Troubleshoot And Repair," and I followed the link - Step-by-Step Solutions & Repair .

Kodak CX7430 can only take 10 pictures with a new battery

Chances are that the problem is corroded battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and clean the inside contacts with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. Remove any residue that's in the camera from the cleaning, then reinstall your batteries. Hopefully this will cure the problem and get the camera back up and working the way it should.

If that doesn't do the trick, you might want to try your luck with the Kodak Troubleshooting guide at:

My Kodak camere was really not dropped. I put in new batteries and the camera only gives me one shot and I have to turn it off and try again. I can plug the camera into a charge cord and I can take all the pictures I want. Is it possible the 2 batteries are not enough to power the camera
