The code is because of bad keypad/the control panel.Have it changed. It probably non-functional and constant beeping sound is followed as you mentioned.Theres a link to explain more about this for reference. The only solution is to replace the control panel.

SOURCE: oven and control panel not

Sounds like a stuck keypad. Push all pads at random several times each then try it again. If that does not work the clock will have to be replaced.

SOURCE: I have an electric range, model # J SP42SOK4SS.

This means the controller is sensing a stuck key, which may be due to an actual stuck key or a problem with the controller. There is a way to diagnose which is the cause if you are comfortable tearing into the unit, or a repair tech can quickly diagnose for you. If you need a controller, you might consider having us rebuild it for you.

Hi,

F7 is a stuck key. Usually you can't get a key unstuck. Best thing to do is replace the keypad / user interface. Here are some of GE's error codes:

GE
Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes Failure
Code
Condition Check/Repair F0 and F1 Failed Thermistor Control Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC) F2 Oven temp exceeds 590 w/ unlocked door High resistance or interference in oven temperature sensor. Replace oven temperature sensor F3 Open oven temperature sensor circuit Replace oven temperature sensor F4 Shorted wire (Oven temperature sensor) Locate and correct F7 A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC) F8 Component Failure Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC) F9 Program w/ door circuit Check wiring
Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

F7 error code on GE gas oven model # JGBP90MEA2BC

On this model, code F7 means there is a keypad malfunction, and therefore the range's "computer" isn't getting a valid signal from the keypad. It may be a stuck "touch-key", a bad connection between keypad membrane and the range/computer connector, or more probably a faulty keypad membrane.

In some cases it can be a defective computer module. You can test whether the problem is the keypad or computer unit by disconnecting the keypad entirely. If an error code F7 still shows, then the computer is faulty.

Range is a a JSP 42 GE and is flashing F7 56 D6. Only the burners working. Range has never been used.

Range never used, would suggest it is new, report to supplier, They should supply equipment ready to use, not with problems

Ge glass cooktop range won't bake or broil. error fault codes f7 and g6

see the cause and fix it for F7:

Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:

1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.

2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
