Usually NiCad batteries charge in 6-24 hrs. Too much won't hurt it, it may have a light that goes off or on or changes color when it is full. BTW, what is the part number for your battery. I have the same DVD player and it's missing the battery pack, trying to find a source to buy it online, but need the part number. Thanks

    I did find a website that said that 3-4 hrs it will charge, and yes, there is a light that changes from green to red or vice versa.

Battery light is on

The battery light doesn't mean that the battery is defective, it means that the battery charging system is not putting out enough voltage to keep the battery charged up, this is all explained in the owner's manual.

Likely the battery but it could also be the charger---if someone tests the voltage coming out of the charger with a volt meter it will eliminate that as the cause

My device won't charge

This situation sometimes occurs when the batteries get overcharged. Use the phone for a day and then attempt to charge. If it still won't charge, remove the battery for about a minute. Then re-install the battery and attempt to charge. If that doesn't clear the problem, you may need to get a new battery.

My camera has been plugged into the computer for 24 hours now and the battery still isn't charged. How long does it take to charge and how will i know when it is done charging? i have a Vivicam X029

The manual merely says "a few hours." The LED on the back of the camera lights up while charging and goes off when finished. Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries. If you're using a hub, bypass it and connect the camera directly to the port. If that doesn't do it, try another port if available. If that doesn't do it, use the supplied AC adapter and plug it into a wall outlet.

My motoriola defy phone wont charge it has been at 0% charge all morning.

Hello and welcome to FixYa;

Take out battery, clean off the battery and gently clean off the terminals. Put battery back in and try to charge again with your charger. If this doesn't help;

Try another charger to the phone such as a car charger if you have one. If the battery still will not charge;

you may need to get another battery. I suggest you go into your local service provider first, have them use one of their spare batteries that fit into your phone model and see if the battery will start charging.

If it doesn't, you need to have your phone itself looked at instead of the battery.

Try these steps before you spend money on replacing parts needlessly.

Let me know how this worked out for you. If my solution helped you, please rate this solution!
It doesn't cost anything and only takes a second, but it is greatly appreciated.

I have just purchased a magnavox blue ray dvd player, but I cannot get the dvd player to operate after I press the startup button on thed remote.Can you please help me. Thanks

naturally, make sure everything is plugged in correctly, and that the batteries in the remote or charged.
if the player is new, you might want to check the manual to make sure you are operating it correctly.

if the player is not new, and has worked in the past, then the problem is probably something trivial like batteries, or wearing out of the iod on the remote, the plastic on the button in the remote, or something interfering with the signal.

Magnavox MPD850 DVD Player Doesn't turn ON

Many people buy electronics and never read the manual.
The first thing to do before operating an electronic device is to
read the manual, is for the best. I have had this unit for two years now
and have no problems with it. The most commond mistake people make
with this portable DVD is that they plug in the lighter without removing
the battery. You can't charge the battery with the lighter adapter and
you must remove the battery before you turn it on.
