Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Mitsubishi WD52725 Hey, Thanks for the post. I have error code 44, but there doesn't seem to be a problem with the DVI cable. I read your post on checking voltages, but I do not know which voltages to check, or what fuses to check (so far, all fuses I checked had continuity). Based on reading these forums, I have checked and verified the following voltages: J9 Pin 1/2 are 5V, Pin3 Gnd, Pin4 12V J14 LampLitz (Orange Cable) has ~2.9V when plugged in, 5V on power up, and then goes to 0V. J14 LampLen has 0V when plugged in. After start up, it will go to 5V for a second or less and back to zero (this is when the entire TV shuts off). With the back of the TV open, I can see the lamp start up for a very short period of time, but it quickly shuts down. Please help, I am trying to figure out if it is the light engine or not. If it is the light engine, I will probably "can" the TV, but I really don't want to do that.

I would say the problem lies with the Caps on the Power PCB there are 7 capacitors that fail, and the set wont operate. there are 4 100ufs at 16V 105 defrees and one 2200 uf 35V and two 3300uf 10V 105 degree. they dont always show signs of swelling either, they just fail.

How do I fix DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Are you sure its disconnected? It may have a FMT failure. The cable is inside the back of the TV. you need to remove the rear panel to see it. There should be a white ended cable that plugs in that looks like a monitor wire but short.

Mitsubishi wd-73739 turns on then turns off with a red constant led

The set has a self check--try this(posted by another expert here):

"Here's something that might also be useful. After you turnon the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device andMenu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnected"

Pressed menu and input on front of wd-60735 blinking light 3 times then 4 times

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnected
Lamp is first suspect followed by Ballast that drives it.
I also suggest the following answer I posted for a similar set be considered:

Hi troylove

the dvi cable could be bad in the set or needs to be sited. or one of the boards the dvi connects to. ( would bet it will be the DM board in the Chassis) it will need to be sent off for repair if it is the chassis.
