I have windows 7 and do not care for the way it looks. \r\nMy old xp would let me change all the white to a custom color. W7 will not let everything change. I am visually in paired and see things brighter than other people. Do you have a solution how to change ALL the white to a custom color? Thank you for your help.

Ok - this can be done - step by step...
1. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization\Window Color and Appearance
2. At bottom of that screen: Advanced Appearance Settings.
3. Top selection drop down - find Application Background.
4. Change that to a more agreeable color.
5. Save changes.
6. Enjoy a PC that you can look out without being blinded by the bright whites.
Cheers.
PS - Tested on my Windows 7 Home Premium.

Can I reset my dell d830 to factory settings with out windows disk 7

Did you ask dell this? first. for this 11 year old , old PC?
why not? (sold 2 years before w7 was released to market)
after thing can change,... support, ways and means.
is your data backed up,. this is always question 1, ?
windows 7 you say? HOW?
did it come new like that, no, or upgraded from Vista, and if yes, how.?
Dell disks or Microsoft disks (then) we cant know the history here, see? and that matters.
the Dell site shows that this PC, did not come with W7 ever.
windows 2000 to vista 64, ends.

so then how did this PC get w7. (you,or did you buy this used PC with w7, or had someone do that?, then lost the disk?>)
if you read this page, you learn just what Dell drivers are support there. not w7, as it shows clearly.

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/latitude-d830/drivers

here and endless, text page, on one guy paying and asking this question.
tedious endless Q & a

https://www.justanswer.com/computer/3vgm2-need-restore-sons-latitude-d830-back-original-factory.html

some answers above, link, are now wrong, do to Dell ending support, and links dead too... time passes things change.
There are many other answers to this,
get newer PC
buy w7 , from Microsoft,
install it, and then spend all week finding drivers 1 by 1, that do no work now. (sound, Ethernet dead, wifi, etc)
in some cases we can, in others can not , and must replace any devices that has no w7 driver in earth.
like say a USB wifi dongle. that supports w7,
good luck fixing old PC, for sure.

Buy w7 and load it again, short answer,
when you see things are dead, as is common.
ask for help thing by thing.,...

The software disk I have will not work on Windows 7

Depending on the Windows version you have, you may be able to use the software. If you have Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate, you can download the Microsft Virtual PC and XP mode and install them on your computer. In so doing you will be able to run Windows XP on top of Windows 7. While running XP you can install that software and run it from XP. You will be able to communicate with Internet, the printers, everything.
Sorry, but you cannot install XP mode on other versions of Windows 7 such as W7 Basic, Home Premium, Just Pro and Ultimate.

I need to move from an old pc XP to a new pc Windows 7 I have pcrelocator 2003

Since you have the 2003 version, it may not work with W7.

One of the new features of Windows 7 is that one does not need third party software to migrate from XP to W7. On the W7 machine, just click on the start orb and type in "windows easy transfer" in the "search programs and files" box., click on same and follow the instructions to migrate from XP to W7. I've done it more than a few times without any problems.

I have a laptop with window 7, i try to reformat it but it can't is there any solution to change my o.s window 7 to xp...

You cannot perform an automatic downgrade (e.g. via an Upgrade function) from W7 to XP: you will need to perform a full XP installation on top of W7 from a self booting XP Installation CD.
By doing a FULL XP installation, you will loose all settings and all Applications software and drivers will need to be re-installed ... not for the faint hearted!!! The install will give you the option to reformat the drive ... but i do not recommend it !!!
I strongly suggest that you backup your existing W7 system to allow you to re-copied certains files (e.g. Document folders). Also separately backups your Internet (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc) settings/favorites so that you can restore them under XP.
Make sure that you have all the required XP drivers for your specific Laptop available on your hard disk.
Hope it helps and good luck!

Can't install Windows 7 on a Microspot PC (problems with audio).

I don't think you can jump from XP to WIN7, you would need many "new" system files/folders.
