To change the language in the Garmin GPS go to the "Where To" start up page (icon of magnifying glass), select/touch the wrench icon marked "tools" then in the next page there is another wrench icon marked "Settings", touch that, in the next screen is an icon of a set of lips and marked "Language", make your chosen language selection in the next screen after touching the lips icon. You did not say model of GPS, this is the most common way to get to the language menu in a Garmin GPS.

How to change password on garmin nuvi 1300?
First you have to know the password or know where the password was set. once the Garmin is unlocked you can go into the settings sscreen and change it. if you "forget" the password take the Garmin back to where you locked it and it should allow you to use it normally.
otherwise SOL. those don't unlock with any tools. even the Garmin Tech's cant help you without you sending them the GPS. Sweet revenge when a unit is stolen.

Here are the directions to resetting the Garmin Nuvi 885T language settings.

To change the language settings of your Garmin Nuvi 885T touch the following icons:

  1. Tools
  2. Setting
  3. Language
Then select your preferred language from the list.
