the 7 1/2 & 15 ips sleeve fits over the smaller capstain for greater speed. Please do not answer if you need a part #.

the akai is a tape deck- not a receiver

If you google "X-1800SD capstan sleeve" you will find other sites with the sleeve available for purchase.

How do I connect this system together to get it to work?

The manual for the amplifier and all the other units are here. Use the search feature in the top right with just the model number 'AT-5210'. Getting the items in the right order helps. The turntable obviously goes on top. The Amplifier goes in the middle and all the other units connect to the amp.

Hi, I need the user manual for akai-ss-800 w, can you please help.

I couldn't find the actual manual for download, however, if you contact the manufacturer they may be able to send it to you, depending on what year your model was produced. You can find their contact form below. I hope this helps!

I have an AKAI GX-4000D reel to reel machine. It plays small 3" tapes at the right speed, but when I try and play a 7" tape, the sounds are very, very fast and I can't make out what's being...

Hello,
Yes, that seems to be your problem.

Regardless of the size of reel.
When the:
Capstan sleeve installed is 7 1/2 IPS
Capstan sleeve not installed is 3 3/4 IPS
Hope this helps.

Akai 4000s Wind Synth

This is a common fault - faulty capacitors in the power supply section need replacement. Low and noisy voltage rails are stopping the Akai initialising properly.

Please rate the assistance given - this should enable you to fix the problem.

AKAI CASSETTE DECK IDLER?

I wonder if it has a counter and if so, is the belt that drives the counter too loose? Is the counter working?
