Question about LG VX8300 Cellular Phone
My phone is stuck in car kit mode
Take a very small amount of rubbing alcohol on an old toothbrush and gently clean the charger port. Then get a paper towel and carefully dry up what you can. After that take a blow drier and blow out the port for about 2 minutes. Your phone might keep going back and forth to car kit mode. Clean it out again, dry it, then blow dry it again and it should switch back to regular mode. Keep doing this until it works. Note: I also threw mine at my bed and dropped it on the ground and that might have helped :) Your phone will survive anything. This is the best phone LG has ever made.

When mine was stuck in car kit mode, I used a hair dryer to dry the charger port. After I did that, I put the charger back in and let it charge overnight, and the car kit went off.

Most likely exposed to water...even at low levels. I put mine in a bowl of dry rice. Worked great to dry it out. Worked in one day.

SOURCE: car kit mode activated
I found this on another site, it worked like a charm... roll a VERY THIN piece of aluminum foil, and slide it (almost jiggle it) in the POWER SLOT. I tried it and it worked . Apparently saliva, water or anything liquid will make the connection to activate the phone into the 'car kit mode', so the aluminum foil acts as a conductor and switches your phone out of car kit mode...

SOURCE: vx8300 stuck in car kit
I just ran into this problem myself (besides that fucked up white main screen i have). So after reading all these other solutions i played with the thing and found that its one of the right-most pins in the charging port. Probabily a pin touching the metal housing or another pin completes the same electrical circuit used to determine if a car kit is hooked in. I figured this one by shoving a knife through the opening to clear out any debris and every-swipe made the "car kit" banner dissappear. so check for pins touching something it shouldn't. ( i said F-it and ripped that pin out!)
Hope this helps more
