I recently bought a new computer with Vista. My old computer had XP. I can get the printer to print a test page but it will not print from the internet. I tried downloading the Vista driver but that did not help. Any suggestions?

Re: Changing from XP to Vista
Does it print from any other program? (e.g. Notepad, MS Word etc)
Are you receiving any error messages? are the documents being passed to the printer queue? (if the printer icon is showing, you can check this by double clicking it - most printers will show the queue upon double clicking the tray icon)

This printer will work with Vista. I use the driver that Vista provides with the standard HP internal network card and it works fine. Try putting your network card back in and undoing the USB adapter changes. Then just go in and add it back with the "Add Printer" wizard.
My compliments on the 4550, though. It's a great printer. A bit slow compared to what's out there new, but a workhorse that will last nearly forever.
If you have the print driver still installed, go to "printers & faxes", right click on the lexmark printer, select properties from the drop down menu, if you are on the general tab look for the button that says print test page, print the test page and look at it for all the ".dll" files the printer installs, search for these one at a time and delete them from computer as you find them. If you dont find them then the printer is truly un-installed. Finally make sure you download the latest driver from the Lexmark site and install it.
Hope this helps,
go back to the good old xp or go to the hp website and search for the vista driver. and that type of printer is a network printer try to conect on swich(router) and instal on another pc, share it on that an is posible to work.
