Question about Panasonic PT-52LCX65 44" HDTV

TV just shut off and will not come back on

The tv has been seeming to ge darker (the picture) lately. Today it just shut off and I am not able to get it to come back on. The fan is running properly, the green light flashes and you can hear clicking in the back of the set but it will not kick on. Could it be the lamp? Can I tell when removing the lamp if it is our problem? I have only had this TV for two years is it normal for the lamp to give in this quick?

There is something else you can try if the set has not been "serviced" for several years.

This model has three picture tubes with large black lens on top of each, if the set is in a dusty area and the lens have never been cleaned, dust on the lens will gradually make the picture duller and darker.

Unplug set and remove back cover, see if you can see the three large lens and if so wipe them clean with a lens cloth or a paper towel with glass cleaner sprayed on it.

Let me know if you need more information.

Picture seems to be alot darker than before. toshiba 62hm95

I just replaced a lamp in a Sony LCD projection that was just over a year old and it was bad. It was a VERY dim picture. You have a DLP but, in either case a dim or dark picture is almost always caused by the lamp.

Picture is getting darker and darker

if the tv has never been service before you could have dust on the 3 tubes, this will decrease the brightness to the screen. try taking the front or back off & see if you can see the top of the picture tubes. remember to unplug the tv & to clean spray the cleaner on the colth , then clean the tup of the tube. never spary on the tube itself. hope this works for you.
