I have the same problem: Webroot 2011 no longer detects and quarantines cookies. If you go to the Webroot Support page and type "no longer quarantine cookies", it offers the generated issue: "You want to know why Internet Explorer cookies are not detected in a scan"; to which it offers the following answer: "A recent Microsoft security update (KB 2559049) [...check your Windows updater, I got this security update on my computer on August 10th...] prevents Webroot security programs from identifying spy cookies on systems where the update is applied. Although these cookies cannot be detected, your core antivirus and anti-spyware protection is not compromised. Viruses and spyware are still blocked. Webroot engineers are actively investigating options to restore spy cookie detections and any solutions will be provided in an upcoming release." (This statement is not dated; I am looking at it now, August 28th, 2011, on their Webroot Support page.) I have Windows Vista operating system and Webroot 2011 version 184.108.40.206. My Webroot Antivirus with Spy Sweeper hasn't swept up anything in scans in the last couple of weeks, but it did block an internet site last night; so I think it's still working. Hope this helps!
uninstall spysweeper then run it strait from disk to clean out any spyware that you might have before installing again should you choose to. this is the only way that works 10 out of 10 times. i hop this helps
It scans your PC online, and its free. I thought I removed all spyware/malware etc from my PC using my regular anti-virus and spyware detect software (which I use almost daily). I just tried this online yesterday and it detected 2 Malware and 3 adware programs still on my PC, plus a lot of other stuff..
