Danby 12304D - no digital display

When we put our air condition in and plugged it in, same way as last 3 years, we heard a beep, but nothing lit up in the digital display. I checked the filter which was very dirty..cleaned and dried it. It's like there's no power, yet it beeps when we plug it in

Sorry, my reply seems garbled.

The little connecting plug IS the problem.

The connection seems to be loose. I can plug the connector together and as I said Poof!, the a/c panel lights up properly and the a/c runs.

BUT when I shut it off and restart, NOTHING. I think I need to replace the connector, can I get one somewhere?

Thanks again El Barto

I have had intermittent running of this a/c. The little plug that you speak of seems to be the problem.
I have plugged the connectors together and poof! litle, action a/c. Turn it off then turn back on, NOTHING.
Can I get a repacement connector?

Thanks for the answer by the way!

There is a plug that detaches when you take the front cover off which you need to do when you put it in or take it out. It may still be unplugged if you forgot to reconnect when you re-installed. You will need to unscrew the screws on side of front cover and I think there is one behind the filter that you will also have to remove. Plug the plug in and it should be fine. Let me know if this solves the problem.

Hi Tania,
Have you gone through this checking sequence.? it's from a Panasonic a/c manual. It could be something as simple as a clogged filter. Once you have rectified the fault, you will probably have to clear the fault code as described at bottom below, before it will condescend to work again.

I have had the same problem with mine. Try to tape the small water container drawer shut. Restart the unit and see if the beeping is beepless.

The water is being removed from the air, you need to empty the water out of the unit as needed, sometimes as often as every two hours, the beeping is a water tank full alarm telling you to empty the tank as per instructions, there is a drain plug on the bottom of the unit you may want to move the unit to a drain until you know the amount of water the tank holds so you know how big of a containor to use

Danby DAC5020 Air Conditioner fan works but not compressor

It could be as simple as being low on refrigerant. Depends on how expensive the unit is if its worth recharging and how big the unit is. Some small units will need to have a recharge point fitted which cost more of course.

I had that problem last year. When I took it apart I found that the drainage hoses that lead to the reservoirs were plugged with dust build up. I clean out the hoses as well as the rest of the insides. I have since placed the entire unit inside a shallow (under bed) style rubermaid tote and have not had any more water leaking. Hope that helps you.

I contacted the Danby Co. and found out the unit was still under warranty. They gave me the name of a local repair shop who replaced the float sensor "free of charge".
Thank you for your time and interest. If I have another problem later I will be in touch with you.
