Lightning strike

posted by wekindle on Jun 23, 2008

i had lightning strike the tree behind my house and it blew my tv. the light stays on when you plug it in but the tv wont do nothing. So i bought a service manual and it says if the green light dont blink when you hold the device and menue button in that the microprocessor is not functioning properly. Is this true? or am I missing something? I tested all the fuses and they check out. Do i need to try something else. How much is a microprocessor and where do i get one. PLEASE HELP!!!
I have the same problem.

This model is famous for capacitors being bad in the low voltage regulators on the signal board. Also has been known for cold solder connections in the power supply to the convergence IC. I don't have my notes at home but I belive that model only uses one IC for convergence, STK393-570. You cant see it from the back because of it being hidden by its heat sink.
