Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Blower I have a relatively new gas  pack. On extremely hot days(106+) it seems to do a "throat clearing" cycle, blower comes on for a couple minutes. Did it w/o the thermostat also. Is there a setting adjustment on the temp in the chamber? The supply comes out the bottom of the unit... Thanks for any help !

Thanks, I'd thrown the breaker already but was concerned there might be something specific wrong up there. Have a duel cooling system with evaporative cooler as well, which works fine with low humidity days, hence no need for a/c or the hot air from that side. Thanks again!

The blower operates on air temperature. To make these units as energy efficient as possible the thermo disk that turns the blower on is calibrated (Non-adjustable) to turn the blower on a a certain temperature. Just a pilot light is enough to bring the blower on in 106+°F. You could completely shut down this system in hot weather and save gas from the pilot and electrical from the blower.

sounds as though she is not using the correct oil to gas mixture OR she is using two cycle oil that is for outboard engines not air cooled engines.

My boiler stopped working two days ago the f-l code came up so I have checked the ignition that seems fine then I checked the voltage for the gas valve which was 106 volts dc checked with idea and they...

Is the 106 volts measured when connected to the gas valve.....or is the 106 volts coming out of the pc board unconnected? If you are measuring the 106 volts on the gas valve the problem could be with the valve. The next logical problem would be with the valve with sufficient voltage coming out of the pc board.

My ryobi 4 cycle leaf blower will not run over approximately 8/10 minutes and then will not restart for possibly a day or so.what can be done"

you have 1 of 2 possible problems. First is the ignition module is getting hot and killing the machine. It runs while cold but once it warms up it dies then it should restart after it cools back down. The other issue could be the needle in the carburetor is allowing more gas through than the machine can burn so it dies due to flooding. Letting it sit for a day or so allows the fuel to dissipate and allows the unit to restart

Our furnace went into lock out and so I cycled powere and it reset it started working again but not correctly. The inducer motor wis coming on for a few minutes then the hot ignition comes on and the gas...

Boy it sounds like a high limit opening up and shutting off the gas valve. It won't shut off the blower because it wants to cool off thge furnace. Check for any restriction in the air delivery system, filter, registers. Check for blockage of the exhaust vent.

make sure the system switch is in the cool position, then press run program button and allow a couple of minutes for system to cycle on, if it doesn't come on press the button for lowering the set point, set it to 72 degrees and then press the hold temperature key.

Rheem gas furnace pilot lights, but no burners or fan

If the burners do not fully ignite, the sensor will shut the furnace down. The lack of sufficient burner flame is a gas valve or gas pressure problem within the valve.
Replacing the gas valve with the original one may get you going. I surely suggest a professional service company for safety reasons and a thorough inspection. A 20 year old furnace is past it's normal life span.

Have you tried it on a different program? I have nearly always used the AUTO program - however i have used the 50 degree program 3 times now and it completes the (much longer) wash without sticking on one minute. Will try it on auto again to see what happens. I found it useful to turn the end-of-wash buzzer on (to loud) to remind me when (if) it completes the program.
