Hi,
yes, disconnect the key board fromt the pc
open it by removing the screws underneath. make it peace-peace. wash the film and carbon sheets with water(use little shampoo, not soap). dry it up completely. Assemble and connect back. see how it works.
Thaks for using FixYa

Have a Gateway M285e laptop that the letter 'e' on the keyboard doesn't function. Will cleaning the keyboard resolve this issue? Thanks

It is possible that there is something sticky keeping the "e" key form working. Removing the key and cleaning around it carefully with alcohol or alcohol water 50/50 or 100% mix might free it up. Use Que-tips or something like that. try to clean around it first. If that does not work try gently lifting up on the key with a small screw driver or knife. You may hear a small pop. this could go either way for you good or bad, so be car full. then try cleaning around the spot ware the key was, gently replace the key.
You may also consider plugging in a cheep $10.00 key board and see if this works. I spilled a large drink in min and needed to use an auxiliary key board until I replaced the computer.

Keys on the keyboard do not spell the words correctly

First of all check the keys carefully to see that no key is depressed(especially Function and Toggle keys) ok. Drag your pc to Safe Mode by pressing F8 key before it boots to Windows. Allow to stabilize on the desktop and try the keys again. If it doesn't work properly here, then I'm afraid it has to be taken to the specialist. Good luck.

How do i use my squigly key?

Hello Sexy_n_17

This solutions is for laptops and I'm assuming your using a laptop because you have 2 colors of keys on keyboard White and Green.

There is a function key that you have to press and hold to use keys that have different colors letters or symbols. The is located near the CRTL key or ALT and says [Fn] press and hold than press the Squiggly key to make it work.

check out this picture so you can get an Idea of what I'm talking
about.

Letters 't,s,d, f" in the key board are not working

I've seen this problem when the keyboard has had liquid spilt into it, Coca-Cola is the worst. I've been able to take some toshiba keyboards apart but it can be fiddly, the circuitry is on 2 transparent flexible circuit boards, with an extra layer between with holes in, when you press a key the top and bottom layers touch through the hole- making the connection. If you can get the keyboard out/apart it might be possible to separate the layers and clean the flexible boards with spit ( yes, spit can break down drink spills and not harm the circuit) but this will invalidate the warranty.. New keyboard required!

No Sound/drivers fine/possible board issue

Yes; sad to say, but your board probably will need replacing. Spilling drinks on your computers, esp laptops, isn't a good thing to do. I have never experienced spilling anything on my computers personally, but I know other people why have, and the motherboard is what they had to replace.
