You will need to have it serviced, if you the camera is under warranty you may try that. If you need any information on getting it serviced let me know. If you need anything else I would be glad to help. If you found any solutions helpful it is greatly appreciated that you rate accordingly.
Thanks,
Lee

The sliding lens cover has a small pressure sensor that tells lens when to extend and when to retract. If the lens sliding cover gets a little loose, then the lens will not come out unless you constantly push down on the cover. .

Well it I almost a common issue on sliding lens protectors / cover on point-and-shoot camera. It could be caused by failure of the sensor (one that tells the camera that the cover is open) or the sensor is loose, that the camera thinks the covers is still closed.

If the sensor is the problem, it is repairable by Olympus or other shop that does repair Olympus. But you may be charge around $25 - $50 (tops) just for the part. But other local shops may charge you less including repair cost (labor)

How do i turn flash off on my olympus stylus 410 camera

Press cursor-right repeatedly to cycle through the various flash modes. The one you want is the lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it. For full details see the "Using the flash" section in the reference manual (beginning on page 72 in my copy). If you need a manual you may download a copy from here.

My memory card on the Stylus 410 digital is full. I have downloaded all photos and would like to erase the entire memory card. How?

Hi,

Do you have a manual? Here is a link to the manual:

Olympus Stylus 410 Manual

You have to navigate through the menu to get to the ALL ERASE or FORMAT selection.

MODE MENU>>>CARD>>>CARD SETUP>>>ALL ERASE or FOMAT

When you turn the camera ON and press OK, you will get the "first menu". Press the right arrow to enter the Mode Menu. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the above item. Once on ALL ERASE or FORMAT, press OK.

Also, here is a quick start guide:

Olympus 410 Quick Start Guide

Scroll down to Section 5 for instructions.

You can save the manuals to your hard drive for future use once opened.

Thanks for using Fixya.

How do I set the time delay on my olympus stylus 410?

Press down-arrow repeatedly and select the timer (looks like a one-handed clock). Press the shutter button to take the picture. The control lamp lights for about ten seconds, blinks for two, then the camera takes the picture.

Refer to the section "Using the self-timer" in the Reference Manual.

Olympus Stylus 410 Digital is taking grey/black pictures

The problem you are describing is a problem with one of the chips in the camera that controls image processing. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

http://olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $83 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.
