My Cannon mx310 had a paper jam and ever sense it has not printed right, vertical lines don't line up and on one side of the page the type is all blurry, I have preformed a print head alignment but it did not help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

To prevent damage to the printer, check the information that came with the printer to see how to remove paper jams. Depending on the printer and where the problem occurred, you might want to try one of these options:

Go to the printer, check for messages in the status or display area on the printer that might tell you where the problem occurred, and then complete any steps provided to remove the paper jam. If the printer does not display information about the problem, check the information that came with the printer. If the printer is connected to a network domain, contact a system administrator or your company support desk for assistance.

Some printers offer a button that you can press and hold, or another paper feed option that you can use to try to extract paper without damaging the printer.

You might need to open the printer casing and remove the paper that is causing the problem. Before you do, check the information that came with the printer to see if you should turn off the printer or take other steps to prevent injury to yourself or damage to the printer.
You should also check if opening the printer casing will void the warranty or any repair agreements that you've purchased or that came with the printer. For information about agreements, check the retail and manufacturer information that came with the printer.

It sounds like the paper jam damaged the printer. I recommend you take it to a professional unless you know how to replace a few parts. if you feel like replacing some parts, let me know. please review our list of professionals for one near you.

My HL2040 printer is printing black vertical lines along the right-hand side of the page, about 3" or so. A month ago I took it apart and cleaned the roller. Still doing it.

If the lines go all the way down the page, check the position of the corona wire cleaner tab (blue or green) at the top front of the drum unit. if not parked fully to one side it will create a solid black lines where it blocks the laser. Otherwise look for some other foreign object (or torn paper piece) that may be blocking the laser from the drum. If the lines are thin and shark, check for scratches on the drum (not repairable without replacing drum). If the lines are uneven thickness but in a pattern that repeats down the page every few inches, then the film on the drum is probably worn or wearing away and the drum needs to be replaced.

Thick black vertical line appears on the right hand side of the page

PLACE A PLAIN PIECE OF WHITE PAPER IN MACHINE AND TAKE A COPY. IF NO LINES ARE ON IT THEN THE LINES ARE COMING FROM THE MACHINE THAT IS SENDING TO YOU BUT IF U DO HAVE THE LINES THEN PRINT HEAD IS PROBABLY FAULTY OR DIRTY.

There are several things to check
1.remove and reinstall the ink cartidges
2. press ON/OFF switch to reset the printer
3. if the printer is new, make sure all the packing material has been removed
4. Check the paper path to make sure that you do not have a paper jam.
5. If these do not clear the problem, you need to have the printer serviced.
2. 3. Remove Packing Material MX310 4. Removing paper jams MX310 5. The MX310 may require repair

Vertical line and five spots in every sheet of paper I print

Thats on the drum, time for a new cartridge.  The equial distance of the marks on the right side of the page point to the drum  which I presume is built into the toner cartidge.

Lines on papre

Replace the toner cartridge.
There is probably a flaw in the image drum. Replacing the toner will replace the image drum (they are one piece)

Vertical black line down right side

Did you carefully inspect all through the paper path for some fuzz, or a small piece of paper smearing the print?
The other issue would be the fuser. Do you see any reprinting of images or letters in that area?
What you can do is set the machine to print 2 or more pages and open a cover or turn off the power to jam the prints in the machine. See if the line is on the drum or not. If not then you have a fuser roller issue which would require replacing the fuser.
