Brush roll not working on Hoover Upright U6455-900

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Upright U6455-900. You may want to check to see if the belt is on or possibly stretched and then replace the belt because the belt does turn the brushroll and if the belt is broken then the brushroll will not turn. 2nd. if the belt is in tact then check the brushroll to see if that spins freely and if it does not then the ends could be bound up with thread and hair and that would need to be cleaned off then place a new belt on because the average belt change is every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning for your carpet.
