Trying to move downloaded music from my music file to drive ''f'' get a message that it will not work as file or directory cannot be created. How do I get the music to drive ''f''?

I take it drive 'f' is a USB flash drive. If so it should appear as a removable drine in "My Computer" If not there, Try it i another port or better still another computer. You may already have too much stuff on f drive too. Check that all the drive's capacity is available and not used up.

USAGE OF MEMORY CARD

I am thinking that you need to put the files into a specific directory. For example, for my HTC Hero, I have to create a directory on my SD card named Music. Other brands may have different requirements for the phone to recognize your media files.

Check with your phone's manual or do a Google search.

Good luck.

The "root" directory has been filled.
Delete one or two items and create a folder on the microSD. You will be able to add more files, but into the folder, not the root area.
You should move all files to folders.

I'm using a 1gb sandisk sd memory card to sync mp3 song on it. THe mp3 songs go on it fine and play on the computer and on the mp3 player ok. The problem is I have about 533mb of space used and have about...

You may have reached the maximum number of files allowed in the root directory of the file system. If you already have a folder on the card, try moving some of the MP3 files into that folder. If you can copy 1 new MP3 file onto the card, that is your problem. Hopefully your MP3 player supports folders!

Cruzer micro 2GB - "Directory or file cannot be created"

In all likelihood, your SD card is formatted FAT and you are hitting the limit on number of objects in the root directory. Check the format type and if it is FAT, I would recommend reformatting as FAT 32 which has more lenient restrictions.

ALTERNATIVE: If you really do not want to reformat the card, you might try to remove a few pics to free up space in teh directory and then create a subfolder to store picture in. Object in this subfolder should not be counted at the root.

I bought a 2gb to store my photos it coplied

Found these two solutions online, that worked for others. Hope it helps:
BEFORE YOU DO EITHER OF THESE: Copy all the data on the microSD card to a reliable media.

==========Solution #1==============
First manually create a folder on the microSD drive. Move files/folders from the root into this folder.
Apparently you can only have a limited number of files in the root directory of this and similar solid state memory devices, including SD cards, USB Flash drives, etc.

==========Solution #2==============
Some suggest that if the drive is formatted with the NTFS file system that you should reformat the drive to the FAT32 file system. I would do this only if Solution #1 does not work or the problem reoccurs.

(1) Open Windows Explorer, right click the drive and select Format from the menu.
(2) In the Format dialog, select the drop down menu in 'File System' and select the FAT32 option.
(3) Click the [Start] button.
(4) Exit the format dialog once complete.
(5) Restore your documents

Error message 0x80070052

I tried setting up a new folder and transfering the files, this did not work either so I just purchased a new Jump drive. I had plenty of space remaining on the Lexar, however, my time was worth more than the cost of a new drive. I'll keep looking for "free solutions" to my problem and if I find the answer, I'll respond.

Cannot copy file error

It sounds like your memory card is formatted with a FAT16 filesystem. FAT16 has a limitation where you can only put 255 files in the root directory, no matter how much available space you actually have. Try placing your files in a folder on the card rather than into the root directory.
