Question about HP LaserJet 3055 All-In-One Printer

Lines on page

When we copy and receive faxes, dark lines show up on the page at even intervals, about 4 cm (2 inches) apart. We have changed the cartridge and this is still happening. The quality of the copy is quite poor.

As far as copying goes, it could be lines on the scanner glass. You might want to check that out.

Do you have any way of checking the condition of the drum on the cartridge to see if there are any lines on it. Find the drum cover protector by removing the drum cartridge straight up, lift the drum protective cover and see if there are any lines on the green surface. Try to keep it out of direct light as much as possible. Make sure you lift it straight up so no toner or developer spills out.

I've seen a few cases where the cleaning blade on the drum is defective. Usually you can return them and get a replacement at no charge.

Faxing problems


Check the scanner glass for ink or lint residue. This is what normally causes lines on faxed and scanned documents and pictures. Here is a link to explains it and shows where to check for the residue.

All in one x7550 is leaving wide black lines on copies and even on faxes sent out--what's the problem??


The problem is likely the scanner. Both copies and faxes are scanned. Tell it to scan an image. Lift the top, so you can watch the light bar go down the page. Its most likely got a dark area.
If under warranty, make arrangements to get it repaired or replaced. If not it may cost as much as a new printer. It has to be taken apart to replace the part.

Horizontal lines and tones specks around text


Only known causes are a dirty corona wire or a dirty/bad drum. If you know the drum is good, a thorough cleaning of the drum and cleaning the corona wire should clear up your printing.

Dark Horizontal Lines on Faxes


on the drum unit that you put your toner inn, There is a blue or green slide lever move the slide back and fourth 10-15 times. If you have some van air blow that area out ( F.Y.I. if you do this some toner will fly out ) if this does not take care of it the drum unit my be bad,

do a 1/2 print test. copier something with a lot of print. open front cover when the paper is 1/2 way through the machine remove drum. Look art the paper and the green drum if the marks are on the paper & drum then the drum is bad. If not the fuser asm is bad, the part that gits hot when melting the toner on the paper,

Lines across page


My metric to standard conversions skills are poor. But if 10 cm is equivalent to about 2 inches it sounds like the drum on the cartridge has gone bad from inactivity. Change the cartridge.

2 parallel lines show up on the copies


try to clean the cover glass at the top of the copier with alchol.
be sure that ther is no any dot or lines on top of tha glass specialy the right side.

Dark line


If the line is not on your recived faxes then you need to clean the area the paper passes over when sending. any marks could cause this.
