BBQ galore is a retailer so you need to know what you have to buy the parts. we stock the parts to convert any of the turbo models they sold and most of the other brands they sold. conversions are simple and inexpensive but the parts are not sold by the manufacturer because an actual manufacturer does not exist. the retailer buys appliances overseas and changes the name and model to make them their own. you need a grill parts company (like us!) who actually works on grills and know the parts because these import companies sold the same appliances over and over again to different retailers so there are other models that use the same parts which makes them readily available.
Go back to the store and demand you want the instructions and warranty paper work, you may have contact the manufacturers and explain your situation, the manufacturers will send you the relevant paperwork or set it up over the phone using the appliance serial number on the data badge.
Appliance Factory Parts http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/ is a good place to start. They carry parts for just about all makes and model grills. If you can't find what you need under Jenn Air, try looking under NEX Grill. Actually, they are the manufacturer of the Jenn Air Gas Grill.
Hope this helps you. Please let me know. Happy Grilling.
I must admit, I was thrown by the Better Homes & Gardens Gas Grill. I have been in the grill business for 15 years and that was one I had never heard of. However, the model number looked vaguely familiar. So, with a little research, I discovered that the grill is manufactured by BBQ Tek Enterprises Inc of Canada. They make a lot of look-a-like grills (the model you have strongly resembles a Weber Genesis). In any event it was only sold by Better Homes & Gardens on their website as a Bond Majestic Gas Grill. Ace Hardware, now has the exclusive on it in the USA. I tell you all this, so if you have a warranty issue, BBQ Tek Enterprises is who you will have to contact 1.877.885.8227.
Below is a link to your Owners Manual, that you ca download and print for future reference.
Actually, there are no conversion kits available from Sure Heat, the manufacturer of your Altima grill. They are manufactured and sold only by the fuel type - Natural Gas or Liquid Propane Gas. So, just changing the orifices is not going to make a full conversion. For more insight, here is a link to the Owners Manual for your model grill. http://www.sureheat.com/Manuals/Grills/altima_manual.pdf
Cause: These newertanks have a device inside that limits the flow of gas to preventleaking or accidental discharge of gas from the cylinder. The
leak detector mechanism inside the tank shuts off the gas whenever the valve is opened rapidly.
Solution: Closethe tank valve and remove the tank. Check the gas line for ANY objectthat could cause blockage. Open all valves on the grill to eliminateany pressure whatsoever. Close all valves and reattach tank. SLOWLYopen the tank not over 2 turns. Check for leaks. I just open my tank atiny bit but that is just me.
