Connect with DVI. USB only carries the mouse-like input functions from the M400 remote to the computer, not video from computer to projector. Hope that helps. (Also, be sure to use a DVI cable that will fit in the projector's socket. I've found some higher-end cables are too bulky, don't quite fit and won't work unless I trim the plastic.)

Try going to system preferences - displays and see if your macbook is detecting an additional display.

SOURCE: the projector is not being recognized by the mac

Connect with a DVI cable that fits properly in the projector's socket (most cheap generic DVI cables will fit fine). If the cable end is too big, the cable may go in, but not quite completely enough to make connection and carry the signals. If you cable is too big, you can probably sand away the plastic until it fits snugly.

Vga and hdmi are different formats. Unless you are using a coverter box that translates the data from one format to another it won't work. Vga is analog and hdmi is digital

Need the driver for dlp projetor at-x51 macbook

Hi, You shouldn't need any drivers, it's a standard projector.
Connect the whole lot together then turn on the projector then turn on the Mac. if that doesn't work try it the other way around.
So far I have not had any problem with projectors (of any make) but there are times when the Mac doesn't recognise one at the first attempt.

M400 after start gives annoying vibration noise (sounds like from the fan, but might be any rotating part) Screen is working ok

hi,
There are two possibilities.
1. The lamp cooling fan faulty
2. Bearing of color wheel get damaged.
Any one of these to can make such vibration noise. Check both things.

Macbook recognizes dell projector, but not vice versa

Hello,
Your Macbook should automaticaly find the best resolution, if everything was OK. Is there any HDMI input on the dell projector? What projector is it? Is there is an HDMI input, you can use a HDMI to mini DVI cable: better picture and sound than VGA, and will probably solve your problem

it's a resolution issue. make sure the projector matches the laptop's resolution. the projector has a 800x600 native and a 1024x768 max. and it's not digital.

Macbook pro + IBM m4000

Depends on the connections you have on both. Most MacBook Pros have a DVI connector on the side. If the IBM projector takes that sort of input, then all you need is that cable.
If the IBM projector has a VGA input, then you'll need an adaptor from DVI to VGA.
(VGA input is standard monitor looking connector.)
