Re: Whirlpool Duet Front Load
If you are using the recommended HE (High Efficiency) soap, you will not see alot of sudsing, this is normal. The washing action is very different than the top load machines. Excessive sudsing will cause issues with this machines operation.

The "rl" (remove load) error code appears when you are running the "Clean Washer" cycle. You must not have a load of clothes in the washer during this cycle. Remove the clothes from the drum, and restart the cycle. The "Sud" error indicates that the detergent is over-sudsing. The Duet washer automatically combats this by reducing the amount of suds in the washing machine. Let the washer finish the suds-reduction steps. Use less detergent during the next wash cycle.
This error code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle. If a "Sud" or "Sd" error code is displayed, or if you can see excessive suds in the window: There are too many suds in the washing machine. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sud" or "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the tumbling and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds. See the animation below for more information.
If you see "Sud" or "Sd" with the Rinse status light on, the washer is in the process of removing suds. Let the cycle continue.
If you see "Sud" or "Sd" and the Cycle Complete light is on, the washer detected too many suds during the cycle and your load may not be fully rinsed or water may not be fully removed. You may want to select a Rinse/Spin cycle for further rinsing.
The SUD message relates to overdose of detergent detected during the Wash Cycle. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent or excessive suds.If
too much detergent was used, run the washer through a Rinse/Spin cycle,
then a Normal cycle, without adding any detergent. This should clear
the unit of the excess detergent. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
SUDS = suds detected during wash cycle. Do you see suds visible in the drum?
Do you have any other failure codes appearing? Unplug unit and plug it back in attempt to run the rinse cycle. If it does not work it could be a clogged filter. Remove lower front panel place a pan under the white filter. located near the pump. Remove the unit and clear any debris.
