Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I need to know if my NEC CD-RW NR-9300A can read dvd's because i got this pc as surplus from my company and they said some of them could read dvd.

No they can't
CDs and DVDs encode the information in different formats.
You'll need a DVD rom or even better a DVD writer for that.

Computer DVD/CD Drive does not recognise any discs

The most likely cause is a faulty DVD drive. Replacing the DVD drive is fairly simple.

You can buy a new one online for around $25 including shipping. If you need help finding a drive or installing a drive, I can help with that. Just let me know.
