Question about Xerox XG-91D 19" LCD Monitor

Xerox XG-91D 19 in. Flat... Problem

Just recently I have experienced a problem with the monitor displaying a screen of anything meaningful after boot up. Previously the screen would display the Xerox logo briefly, then the Windows XP logo, and eventually bring up my password screen. Now there is like a very quick flicker of the Xerox logo, and then just a very dim blue/black screen with nothing on it.

    I am have the same/similar problem. I turn on the monitor, the "Xerox" logo comes on briefly, then I will see whatever should appear from my computer for one second, then it goes black. I can turn the monitor off and then back on again, and the same thing will happen. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Have exactly the same problem - this stinks bigtime - has anyone contacted Xerox - that is what i'm going to do next - they should recall these.

    Hi Zayness, if you call Xerox please let me know what you find out. I didn't call because the monitor was given to me by a friend and I assumed it was also out of warranty. Thanks.

If you look on the back of the monitor it has the name of the manufacturer - which I googled and found this warranty information:

Movement of my desk caused the monitor (XG-91D) to lose some of the colors. The screen only displays greens, blue, brown, gray and black tones. Readjusting the screen temporarily helped but it goes out...

Try a new cable. If any of the pins is slightly bent the monitor will not receive the correct signal to display. I would recommend a new cable even if you don'y see anything wrong with the old one.

Flat screen monitor is dim, no back light

Check to see if you do have 12vdc feeding the Inverter board, check the power supply for bad caps also. The inverter will have surface mounted fuses also, check them also. See example of failed monitors here:

Compatible with macbook?

Yes. if the macbook has DVI out. Do you have the correct adapter? DVI, you can't use the VGA adapter, you need the appel DVI out adapter.
