Depending on your router, you will need to go to its setup. Go to the link where you can forward ports. (Port range forwarding). Then you will enter the information that you recieved when you called Xbox Customer Support. (Call them for it, it is free) Enter the information and you will be good to go.

How to unmute yourself on xbox 360

Hi there I can sort understand what you mean and I think this is the answer. If you cannot be heard normally in chat when online even though your mic is turned on or you have made sure that in preferences, you went in to audio settings and made sure you were not on mute? My guess is your having issues with your NAT settings as this can affect you chat settings when online. For example, xheck your NAT status and if it is MODERATE or STRICT then this is why. If you NAT is OPEN then it is because the players you are playing with have a NAT issue. MODERATE and STRICT NAT's will limit what you can do online, including chatting.
Hope this answers your question :)

Every time i try to join my friends game it says session is ureachable and it is really annoying. We live at different IP addresses and could connect before. We all have the same DLCs and it is only me...

make sure you and your friends have open NAT, you need to port forward certain ports for xbox live on your router, try to check if ubisoft also has specific ports need to be open. if still the same contact your ISP, they might be having problems.

I do not know how to change my NAT setting to open on Xbox Live

First of all I would just like to cover the basics of strict and moderate NAT settings. For those interested, NAT stands for Network Address Translation and is used to prevent problems with information being sent over a shared network.
With the XBOX 360, Microsoft have defined three categories of NAT. These are:

1. Strict
2. Moderate
3. Open

You can see the NAT level for your XBOX Live connection by going into your
1. System blade
2. Network Settings
3. Test Xbox Live Connection

For you question on how to open your NAT setting follow the steps below:

1. Type the IP address of your router in a web browser.
2. It will prompt you for a user name and password once connected
3. After logging in you will have a control panel of setting up different settings in your router.
4. The IP address, and default user name/password are different on every route
Note: 192.168.1.1 is a pretty common address for most routers.
5. Check the manual that came with your router for that info.

I also provided a few links below of password lists of different routers.

Xbox needs NAT settings to be ''open'' not ''moderate'' How do I do this?

You need to go into your routers configuration page and Change the NAT, Network Address Translation, to "OPEN" or in other words, ALL traffic can pass through, as opposed to the "Moderate" or Allowing ONLY certain sorts of traffic to pass through to your PC. You need to look in your manual as to how to do this. basically you type the "Address" of the "Router" into the address bar of a browser, and login with login & password, then go to the NAT section and change it there.

I cant hear people talking on my ax 180s but my mic doesnt work i have 360 help

ou should check your NAT type [the think that lets you connect, talk, hear, and play with people on Xbox Live]

Go to the Xbox Dashboard, Network Settings and Test Xbox Live Connection.

In the bottom of the tests, it will say your NAT Type

Strict= Bad
Moderate= Sucky
Open= Works Fine

If its Open, then you know thats not the problem.

If its Strict/Moderate, go to More Info and they will tell you more about it and give you a website that will help you out. Source(s): Experience

P.S. [That website that will help you out]

www.xbox.com/setup

P.S.S. Have you checked the batteries? Sometimes when the battery of a wireless is low, it won't allow you to speak

its a setting in your router..if the ISP reset your box for any reason, the network address translation (NAT)may have been lost.

Cant have private chat or play games with friends

This should solve your problem

For most devices that use NAT, port forwarding is not required to connect to Xbox Live. This is especially true if you use an Xbox Live certified device. Sometimes, you may have to configure port settings on a non Xbox Live certified router or gateway.

If there is a firewall device between the Xbox console and the network device, you may have to configure the firewall to enable communication on specific network ports. If the NAT status in the Network Status area of the Dashboard is "moderate" or "strict," you may have to configure port settings.

The following ports must be available for Xbox Live to operate correctly:
 UDP 88
 UDP 3074
 TCP 3074

To open the ports on your router see this handy website here,

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

which gives you a step by step guide.

Before opening the ports you must give your Xbox 360 a static IP address (manual) be sure to use an IP address that no other item on your network is using and is fairly high up in your range, for example if your router's address is 192.168.0.1 then you should use something like 192.168.10 for your Xbox 360.

You can also enable DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) on your router, which will open up all the ports to your Xbox 360, however NEVER use this on a PC's IP, see your router's manual on how to do this.

Once the correct ports are open for your Xbox 360, then your NAT should say open.

How to change my NAT

You need to check first if your router is Xbox Live compatible (all routers will work, but only certain ones will allow an open NAT):
http://www.xbox.com/en-us/support/connecttolive/xbox360/homenetworking/equipment.htm

If your router IS on the list, make sure you have a compatible firmware version (usually the firmware version is written on the router somewhere). If you do not have the proper firmware, you will need to downgrade your firmware (reply to me for instructions on this).

If your router is not on the list, you're outta luck.
