Try to check first if your hard drive is working. Just follow the steps.

  1. Load BIOS Utility by pressing any of the following keys upon booting or as soon as you have turn on your computer. (keys may varry depending on the brand or type of computer you are using but the following are the most common (del, f1,f2,f10) Just try any of the following.
  2. Under advanced option please check you hard drive settings. A numeric value should be displayed on the list or in some cases if you see AUTO in this option it means the BIOS automatically detects the hard drive. Just place your cursor on this option and press enter. The BIOS should react and will display the type of hard drive installed.
  3. If BIOS utility was unable to detect the hard drive and you still have a blue screen everytime you boot you will need to reinstall the operating system or run your recovery disk .

Acer Aspire Desk Top tower wont turn on

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

Wont boot up properly looking to reformat

Check and see if there's a Disk in your CD/DVD ROM Drive. I assume there's on in there that has some bootable files and your computer see's it and is asking to boot from it. Usually it will say something like "Press any key to boot from CD" so if you don't want boot from that CD just don't press any keys.

DELL 8400 MAKES A LOUD FAN NOISE AND WONT BOOT

There are 2 basic fans in Dell tower one for the power supply and the other for the Processor. If your computer is not booting then the Processor fan is most likely to be the culprit. What could be happening is that the Processor fan is no longer turning fast enough to cool the processor, so normal the processor when it over heats there is either protection to switch off the computer automatically or the computer won't boot. The best thing is to change the fan and make sure it is working properly but checking on the cables that they won't entangle on top of the fan to impede it's movement. You can easily damage your processor if the fan is not working properly.

My hp media centerm7250n computer wont boot up from the recovery dvd sounds as if the hard drive is spinning

Disconnect the "data" and "power" cables from the disk-drive.
Boot from the Recovery DVD, just to prove that your computer can boot. Of course, you may get an error-message, when no disk-drive is detected, but you will have proved that your computer can boot properly.

Connect a different disk-drive, and boot again from the Recovery DVD, to confirm that it will boot, when some "other" disk-drive is detected.

Wont recognise disk drive ide error

What you need to do is edit the BIOS so that the computer boots from the CD-ROM initially rather then the harddrive.

To do this follow these instructions:
1. Start the computer and tap the F2 key
2. You will now be in the computer BIOS, look for the option that says "Boot Sequence"
3. Highlight the option that shows your CD-ROM device and tap the "F5" key until it is the first one on the list
4. Hit the "Escape" key and select the option to "Exit & Save Changes".

If you restart your computer it should now boot from the CD-ROM. If you have any problems let me know and I will be more then happy to help you further troubleshoot!

I have a acer travelmate 290 and when i push the power button he start and right after this the processor stop (wont boot) and the light of the cd at the top of keyboard stay open please help me...

It could be many reasons. But worst one could be CPU fan failure. If your CPU fan is not working properly then your computer wont boot but most imp thing is, it could damage your processor coz of overheating.
Another reason may be faulty ram, motheboard problem, hardware failure etc.
so cant say for sure but make sure ur fan is cooling ur processor.
Hope it helps
