I can't connect to my wireless Netgear WNR834B because of "improper proxy or firewall settings". I am connected with an excellent connection strength but cannot view any web pages etc.

No problem, I am here to help. Here is a step by step instructions to solve this.

1:Open Your Internet Explorer.
2:Go to where it says Tools.
3:Click On Internet Options.
4:Now go to the tab that says Connections.
5:Now click Where it says LAN Settings.
6:Make sure the box is unchecked where it says Proxy Server.
(Note: If that box was checked on that was causing the Problem.

is your laptop getting a DHCP address? is it getting the correct DNS? Do this by going to control panel. Network Connections. Right click on the wireless connection. choose properties. double click oo TCP/IP. set to DHCP
Also check your Internet Explorer settings to see if it is using a proxy server under internet options. connection settings. If it is on or set to a proxy server. turn it off.

well if you forgot the username and password then reset the router for 20-30 secs pushing the reset button. powercycle the router for 10 secs. then open the router page>
-- http://192.168.1.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com or http://10.0.0.1
-- username and password is " admin" and "password"
-- Left side click on Setup Wizard
-- Apply basic settings
-- go to wireless settings
-- change ur wireless settings according to ur need
-- and apply all the settings.

Go to www.mylinktrain.com or proxshare.com. That's a list of web proxies to bypass your firewall or the web filter. You may need to try several sites to find a web proxy that can play videos on youtube.

i think u have soem firewall isse in router also try to reset router then check .
reset switch in back side of router.pres it for 10 seconds .then it reset to defaults.

Msg. conntected with limited access


Try this.

Unplug the Router.
Unplug the modem.
Wait about 15-20 secs.
Reconnect the modem.
wait about a minute or until all the lights are solid on the display.
Reconnect the Router.
Wait about another minute until everything is given time to start up.
Try connecting again.

If it still does that, it may be a problem with your computer that your trying to access with wirelessly.

My mother had that problem on one of her laptops, it turned out that her particular installation didn't support WPA or WEP incryption. I did a full reinstall and now it works.

If you want to avoid a full reinstall you can try uninstalling the wireless network card, then reinstalling it.(Make sure you go to your manufacturers web site first to download the proper driver for your model)

Loss of connection


This problem is mainly cause by the router firmware, so I advuice you to contact Netgear and ask them to update the firmware of your router to resolve this problem that you have....
