There are two parts to the heating unit that control the air. 1. the blend door, this moves when you change from hot to cold. 2. The selector changes where the air comes from. This is what the problem is in your case. Look at the plenum (area under the dash that has the motor and levers connected to and see if one of them moves when you change modes. Sometimes the selector lever will move but the actual door inside the plenum is broken off.
Switch off your printer. disconnect the power cable or USB cable, and take him out or your room, take one blower and open the printer front cover and switch on your blower and clean the all dust and paper scrap...
Here's my best shot.
Check the temperature settings for the fan switch.
The low OFF setting should be about 100 degrees.
The ON setting should be around 150 degrees and this is the setting that "makes" the ON contacts.
The HIGH LIMIT setting should be about 180 degrees.
If these are set, can you use a meter to see if the FAN ON contacts are closed?
Lastly, it appears that one hot line should go to one side of the blower and the other hot line should go to the bottom FAN terminal with the other side of the blower being fed by wiring from the top FAN terminal.
Good Luck. Gary
I also do disassembling of the LCD's & it's hard to find it on the google. But here's one tutorial that, could help you in some way or the other to disassemble it. Check this out. This is good resource.
Check for a faulty high limit thermostat. It is a small round black device mounted on a metal plate. It is usually mounted to the internal ductwork with two screws. It can be tested for continuity using a multimeter or ohm meter. It should have no continuity. If it has continuity, it is stuck open and is faulty. I am attaching a pic showing a thermal fuse and high limit thermostat for reference. Hope this helps and best wishes.
You didn't specify the model, but chances are that the cycling problem is caused by a broken "link". The "link" connects the cycle solenoid plunger to the slide change mechanism. The "link" is made of plastic, and gets brittle & cracks over time, rendering slide change non-functional. Parts are still available (www.micro-tools.com), but this is an involved repair requiring disassembly & a service manual - - best left to a factory-trained repair dealer.
