Question about LG Computer Speakers

Volume I am having a very strange problem with my volume control. When I move the slider to increase the volume it slides itself back down to 0%. I also have a small black box that says volume 0%in bottom left corner of screen. I am running windows XP. Couple of days ago the volume just quit. Even if I go into control panel I still just watch it slide back down to 0 all by itself. Very Strange Wendy wblake47gmail.com

I think this problem is a program generated problem, i mean your normal program is being damaged or invaded by viruses. Since a typical windows xp os works well if not threaten by other programs. One solution that i can see best is for you to have an updated antivirus program in your PC. After having an updated antivirus program clean your computer by it, then Reinstall your driver softaware for your Windows media player of if you are using different software other than windows media player pls. reinstall it.
P.S. If this helps you solve your prblem please rate me. thanks!

Volume control not working

Left and right wires are like the ends of a carbon resistor.
The centre connection is the slider that slides along the carbon resistance.
Spray inside the device,
The centre sliders often loose connection from overuse.
Carefully take apart and clean & put slight tension back on centre slider.
Look to see if carbon track is worn out?

Take the centre wire off the Pot and try it on either end.
One will be full volume the other will be lowest volume.

Read the Ohms value of the Pot (stamped on)
or use a cheap Ohm section of MultiMeter
Note the size of threaded area
Get similar to take it's place

Background noise

no problem with..record some part of the start with no voice just a 5-10 seconds remain quite...just kept running the recording...then start and record your voice after which install AudaCITY Software and drag your audio file in it and then select the first 5-19 seconds recording which was just the background kept recording selecting the part go to Effects -> Noise Removal then press Get Profile,

after which again select all the track by: Control + A key on PC and then go to Effects Noise Removal move the bar to the left side...and press ok/continue key....now your track is very much clean by the noise...and

for sound loudness select all the track and go to Effects -> Normalize then again Effects -> Amplify put the slider value to -0.1 of what the value is shown.

I am not getting any sound the volume setting in control panel is on mute and it will not turn up i think i need the drivers for the speakers sound

Click on the arrow next to the clock on the bottom right side of your screen. Find the icon for volume and double click on it. If the speaker is set to mute, double click it to release it. Then use your mouse to move the slide up to increase the volume.

if this does not solve your issue, contact me or use the comment or reply link to report any problems.

There are no active mixer drivers available information msg comes when i clicked volume cntroller

Go to Start - Programs - Accessories - Multimedia or Entertainment and then select Volume Control. Note: If you have more than one playback device installed in your computer, make sure that the proper device has been selected before modifying the mixer control settings. To do so, select Properties from the Options menu, and make sure that the proper device has been selected.
Make sure that the Mute All check box below the Volume Control slider and the Mute check box below the Wave slider are not checked, and that the Balance sliders for Volume Control and Wave are in the center of the scale.
Move the Volume Control and Wave sliders at least halfway to the top of the scale. If the Play Control and Wave sliders do not appear, select Properties from the Options menu, and then make sure the Play Control and Wave check boxes are checked. You may need to adjust the current Play Control or Wave slider settings to play wave files at the volume level you want.
If you hear popping or crackling noise from USB speakers, turn off the SpeedStep (if you have a Intel Mobile Pentium III processor) functionality during the sound session. To do so, set the power scheme to an non-adaptive mode: Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance, and click Power Options. On the Power Schemes tab, click Always On in the Power schemes box, and then click OK.

VOLUME TOO LOW ON COMPUTER, HOW DO I SET VOLUME , SO THEY ARE LIGHER

On Vista 64bit version goto control panel>>Hardware and Sound.. under sound click on Manage Audio Devices>> then select your speakers by double clicking on them. In the new box that comes up goto Levels and there are slider bars for all settings - top one is Audio output. Slide this to the right. Mine was set at virtually zero when I plugged my speakers in yesterday.

Fluctuation in sound output on Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 speakers

Hi Paulus
A lot brand of speakers, like Sound Blasters, Logitech, Cambridge, has this (strange) kind of volume problem, sometimes, is the resistor, in the volume control, sometimes in the modulator for the board on the sound speakers, Subwofer.
I use a general tip is let the volume in one setting and don't move in the intermediate low volume say....9 .
from other thing, be change the speakers.

go to start -> control panel -> sound and audio devices. in the volume tab, speaker settings area click advance. make sure the speaker setup is 5.1 .if not, select 5.1 and click ok. now cilck advance in device volume area. u should c a volume slider for rear and front speakers. if u dont c the volube slider, click options->properties.in the show the volume controls section put tick on the rear and front boxes. clik ok. and check weather they are not mute and increase the rear and fron volume to a decent lavel. there may be also sound card specifi settings that might need to be re-configured if this does not work let me know the name and model of ur sound card. Good Luck Julian Leonardo
