I have the same problem. Also, even though I put in a DVD, it automatically reverts to the VCR side, which is what's creating the noise before it shuts off.

Mine wont play the VCR sometimes or when Playing DVD it will switch to VCR side and shut off

Same problem here. I bought it and was beyond the year warrantee by a month--so they told me they would fix it but it would cost almost $50.00. My feeling is that they should stand behind this unit and if other people are having a problem (same problem)-they shouldn't overlook that there is a problem with their units.

I didn't buy brand new-it was refurbished. So that was another problem as to them fixing it. I don't think it is a problem just anyone can put a switch to and fix it-it is mechanical. So-it would take bringing it to someone who has electronical experience.

    Sorry for all of us!

I have the same problem and my unit is only 2 years old. I got it brand new. I called the 1-800 number and they told me that they get this issue alot. That we need to buy a new power supply box for 60 dollars or buy a new unit.

I had a similar problem, particularly when trying to use the DVD recorder, and when I turned on the unit it made a loud rapid clicking sound, and then immediately shut off. It appears to have been the VCR section of the unit (which I rarely use) that was causing the glitch, and the pragmatic solution was to simply leave a blank VCR cassette in the machine all the time. Then I was able to use the DVD recorder without the noise and shut-off problem. (posted 2009-07-22)

My vcr-dvd comes on for about 7----12 seconds & then makes a rapid clicking sound & shuts off.

I would have a look at the sledge that the Lazer sits on to see if there is any plastic bits broken around where it is or itself. That might explain the clicking noise.

I put a tape in and I hear a loud clicking noise and the VCR doesn't play the tape and turns itself off after 8-10 seconds.

first, try another tape. if it does the same thing the vcr is out of alignment. many times a broken lever inside the vhs tape can cause the vcr to shut down.

Clicking sounds when playing VHS tapes

On one hand I would say not to be concerned about the clicking since nothing seems to be affected. However, if the noise is loud enough to be a bother, or for your own peace of mind, consider returning it to the retailer for exchange if you still have that option. I've heard clicking sounds from other VCRs because of some of the moving parts and it's been nothing to worry about. But I'm not familiar with the guts of your model, so I can't say it's not a sign of some problem that might get worse over time. It's your call. Not really a "solution" I know, but without opening it up for myself and looking for the source of the noise it's the best I can offer.

VHS tape plays for a few seconds and automatically ejects

My guess would be dirt on the rollers inside the VCR. They sesnse a jam and ejct. Try a VCR cleaner (with cleaning fluid) and see if that helps.

VHS got jammed, clicks, turns self off

Open it up and next to the right spindal where the tape goes there should be a small, black B-S button, press it in with a pencil or pin, and it should reset the VCR's computer.

I need a owners manual for model:wv10d6. There was no manual with the sv2000 dvd recorder.

Cosmicson. You can download it directly from the official Funai support website using the hotlink provided below.

Used a wet VHS cleaner and now my VCR doesn't work right. Help!!

The VHS cleaning cassette possibly deposited fiber in the heads in the drum. You may need to open the cabin and examine the heads and the mechanism for foreign matterial.
