If the paper is not situated perfectly in the tray, and it cannot grab the top sheet easily, mine will give the paper jam message. I just adjust the paper in the tray, then open one of the doors, front or back, and close it again, and it usually fixes the "Jam".

Well open the printer where you can(the closest point to the jammed paper) attempt to remove the jam by attempting to pull the Jamed paper in the direction it would normally exit the machine.thats about as far as I can get you with the information I have--Good Luck.

It sounds like your paper pickup roller is worn down and can't grip the paper to pick it up. This roller is located on the bottom of the printer. Pull the paper tray all the way out and turn the printer over and you can see it as seen in the attached picture.
This roller comes in a kit along with the separation pad and the charge roller. When you replace one its best to replace them all. The roller kit is available here:
good ! that u have mentioned the name of ur printer
paper jam error message appers whenever the pick rollers that helps in pulling the papers are dirty but you will not be able to clean those rollers as you may tru to do a power drain :
1:disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer
2:hit the power button for 10 times when the power cable is disconnected
3:reconnect the power cable and try to see the error again
4: try to clean the rollers on the printer that is there at the back of the printer and front of the printer with a cotton cloth or a lint free cloth with some water
this is for paper jam
1: try to move the carriage manually for 10 to 15 times and if that is moving then its ok otherwise your printer funtionality has gone bad as because if the carriage will not move then you will not able to print
so service your product
1. First, clean your printer. Get some spray-n-wipe cleaner and a clean cloth and clean the entire inside of the printer. Also ensure your paper isn't dirty. Now print a test page. Does the symptom persist? 2. Remove all jammed paper. Check the paper tray first. Look closely at the paper rollers nearest where the paper exits the printer; this is a common source of jams. If you’re trying to print labels, they will often jam just before exiting the printer. 3. Try to print a test page. Does the printer still jam? If you can find no source of the jamming, check the printer's message display window and refer to your user’s manual to look up the printer error code.
Remove all the cartridges and look around. There may be a small piece of paper torn off inside the machine on a sensor. It is possible a sensor has come loose or a spring has come off of one of the actuators. Check carefully.
thx m8. Media jam: Fuser i had... new there was no paper jam so looked about for the sensor and found that the little arm thing that gets liffted up as the paper pass was not falling back down so it thought the paper had jamed. i just took the back panal off and put a small bit of soft foam under it so it always got pushed back up. works a treat now. thx again
