Verify that the main filter capacitor is doing its job. Excessive ripple on the rectified line voltage bus can cause various forms of shutdown behavior. An easy test is to jumper across the capacitor with one of at least equal voltage rating and similar capacitance (make connections with power off!). Use a Variac, if possible, to bring up the input voltage slowly and see if the TV works at any point without shutting down. If it does, this could be an indication of X-ray protection circuit kicking in, though this will usually latch and keep the set shut off if excessive HV were detected.

Hope that helps.......

It is most likely trying to protect itself from overheating. Make sure to clear any dust away from the vents and ensure that these is proper ventilation space around the TV. You may want to have the unit serviced so that any dust inside can get cleaned out.

Power supply trouble. The TV keeps trying to start then operates for 2 seconds and shuts down. The cycle keeps repeating until eventually the TV will not start at all.

RCA D52W20 TV powers on fine, then shuts itself off after 5 - 10 minutes. After 20-30 minutes, I can turn tv back on, but then shuts off again in 5 minutes.

it looks like the problem is in the 16v line..try to take it apart..and there's gonna be a 2200mf cap leaky.
that will solve your problem.

My RCA Bigscreen HDTV will not turn on.

Thats either the flyback or the HV splitter. If the sound is coming from the rear left side its the flyback. If its coming from the front of the set its the HV splitter. They are both easy to replace. I will post a link where you can get replacements with instructions if you would like.
