Yes, it suppose to have sound. Try this: right click on My Computer to open Properties. Click on Device Manager. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. If you see a yellow bang next to a device, double click to open it. Select Driver and click on Update Driver. Have the computer search for the driver. Hopefully it is still on the system or you can put in the CD to have it search for it there.

Your previous monitor had built-in speakers. The Aces LCD monitor do not have built-in speakers, therefore you need to purchase external speakers and plug these into your computer.

There's a good chance your computer came with a monitor which contained speakers. Are the speakers in the monitor attached to one of the sound ports on the computer?
