Question about Televison & Video
PS3 was connected via hdmi to tv. Worked fine, until one day I had black screen, no sound. TV screen looks like no signal is coming in. Tried all troubleshooting to rule out PS3 issue, reset all settings to component cables. PS3 recognizes it is connected via hdmi, but when selecting it as a video/audio output it does not work. That indicates to me the hdmi port on the PS3 is still good.
PS3 has output settings and would need to be adjusted if you are coming from the RCA input. Check out www.sony.com/ps3 trouble shooting under display problems. I believe the solution is to turn on the PS3 unit and keep holding the I/O button for more than 5 seconds. I had the same issue going the other way.

if your old tv was an analog one you need a digital converter box to change to the new signal.. new tvs wont recognize the analog signal..temporarily you may be able to use your laptops' dics player as a player for your discs..
