Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

Mitsubishi TV issue

Hi, Did you resolve your blue screen issue. I'm having the same issue and called a repair person today. It seems that many folks had the same issue. Did Mitsubishi fix it for free??

    my 52" dlp screen just went to all blue with only a circle of blue/white static in the center of the screen. I get no picture from cable or dvd inputs. The on screen displays for sound etc show up at the bottom of the screen.

No, they did not fix the problem. I spoke with a non-english speaking customer service representative who kept saying the same thing, you must take the television to a repair depot before we can help you. The nearest Mitsubishi shop wanted $150 to diagnosis the problem. Based on reading the online material it is pretty clear what the problem is related to heat causing capacitors to prematurely fail. My big problem is "do you invest $150 in television that could be replaced for less $1000 with similar technology without any assurance that the company is going to help". From the other post, it appear that the repair is going to be between $600 and $1000. By the time I had finished speaking with the customer service representative, I had concluded that Mitsubshi will not be enjoying anymore of my money. I tried my best to get past the first level customer service person but with no luck. I believe that a conversation with higher level management person would yeild more acceptable results. I would be willing to $200 to 300 to have the repair made.

Heated seat issues are almost Dealer Only repairs

The dealers,some anyway, bring in outside seat folks,

I know these sets pretty well--worked on a lot of them when new and later--one of two possible ideas=

1. Either a odd convergence problem==confirmed or denied by going into the convergence menu (in customer menu) and selecting advanced which will bring up a grid of lines--if see the same issue (I will attach a photo of a Mitsubishi with this problem) it can be fixed.

2. Some sort of issue with the circuit board on the end of the Blue tube(you are missing blue=black) but usually in this set if that happens it is uniform and on both sides of the screen, not the top.

Let me know what you find.

I doubt it is convergence, but does not hurt to look--if the missing area was perfectly rectangular I would suspect up/down centering adjustment.

There is one other possible thing to try--we will leave it for last--set has 3 hidden menus and one is OPTION menu which allows a hard reset of entire set--sets everything back to factory except convergence adjustments which are stored in another area.

The Convergence Amp IC's are bad. You should call a good TV Tech for this repair.

Their is no more you can do.
Seen this before.

You need a professional.
Stop using the TV until it is repaired.
Continue to use the TV and your problems WILL multiply.

Call the manufacturer to find you nearest authorized service center.

Blue screen with a floating white orb

if you have the blue screen of death your harddrive is going out. The only way to fix this is have the hard drive replaced. If you have a warranty call the warranty company as they will fix this issue. if not try a local computer repair shop to fix it.

any repair shop can re converge the tv for do some calling arond and get a few quotes to see what it would cost to have them come to you

Blue Screen & inputs dont work.....capacitors?

I had the same problem, I called Mitsubishi and they with trouble shooting help, they told me to get a new lamp. Well I got a new lamp and but nothing happens, the tv screen is black no sound, no picture. I went to this site and with their help, and troubleshooting help, said this kit would work, I just got it today,and I am going to install it now, I will be back to let you know. But I do suggest you go on that site, and try to get some assistance, they sell the service manuals for 16.99$, but if you buy a kit, it includes the manual. Well let us know what happens, and I will be back.
