Hold in the mode button for 3 or 4 secs. It should bring up the menu (mine said "music") then press the mode button (straight in) once more - and it works!! (I called tech support to get this)... enjoy!!
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

I have a 797 model. By plugging into the computer thru the USB that charges it, I go under My Computer, select Nextar.
When it opens, I drag and drop from files or iTunes.
But you have to make sure you are choosing mp3 versions, won't play just anything like and iPod.
But iTunes converts to mp3. Think it is under tools. Select an audio, under tools?, select convert and you can go from there.
I just had the same problem. Go back to your menu, make sure you are on your play music icon and instead of clicking on the center button with play and pause on it click on the menu button again to make it access the folder. You should see the word music come up across the screen once it's chosen.
yes you can your mp3 player can play both wma or mp3 types of format so if you have songs in your windows media player or you have a other sorce that you use to play your music with you can upload your music to your nextar,it should have came with a usb cable plug 1 end into your nextar and the other end into your computer to upload any of your downloaded music including any music that you have stored on your computer off cd's or and music that you got off the internet.
A lot of people have been complaining about this particular
product.First of all, you have to format the player, but the
instruction manual doesn't even mention this.. Plug one into the usb port and wait for it to detect. Then go to My Computer, and right click on the drive and Format. You should now be able to copy songs over, although Protected mp3's WILL NOT PLAY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!
The mp3 player's operating system is trying to load the songs which is not possible because most of the time itunes uses .aac format which is only compatible with ipods to fix plug into computer open device, and delete all the music files unplug and try turning on if sucessful plug back in ad load mp3's or wma's using windows media player
what you need to do is plug the mp3 into the computer, next open the mp3 player musoc file, then you will have the ability to add or delete songs thwn you will have space to add as many songs as you like
