the top plastic surround will need replacing as it will now tart to damage the ribbon cable to the top screen and the screen will then need replacing as well if u get a crystal case for the DS it will last a bit longer but eventually it will need to be replaced
Licking the games is not really the best idea, u can do a google search for ds spare parts or of ebay you'll get hold of one but it does reqire a bit of soldering, which if your not to keen on that there is another trick you could try.. open up the ds, just the back cover where the battery goes, the game slot1 is at the top with a silver protective cover, look down the slot for any broken or bent pins. If everything looks fine gently press the bottem corners and middle with a screw driver or twizers until u have a very small dent, this compacks the game cartridge just enough for it to read it properly.
