Question about Acer Aspire 3100-1405 Notebook
I have an Acer Aspire 3100 laptop, the display screen is getting dark. Using AC power too
This is such a user error. I had the same problem on my 3100-1718. It was as simple as holding down the Fn key and using the left and right arrow keys to change the brightness... I am a goofball for ever letting this stay dark for a month !

First, plug a external monitor and toggle the screen to discard configuration or software problems. If the image displays correctly you have a problem either in the inverter, the LCD screen or its connection cable.
Open the bezel and check for loose or damaged connection cable. Look specially next to the hinge.
Try replacing the inverter also.
In case the problem is not the cable or inverter you might have to get a new LCD. You can have replacement parts and instructions here:
