Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

Philips DVD recorder with Hard Drive

Where do I get the info on my model.

DVDR3570H.

I need to delete recordings on the hard drive, but cannot find that in the manual or on the menu's.

I also have interference, so am trying to improve the signal output to the TV - somehow, but I don't know how.
Any suggestions ?

Can I tune in the TV to an analogue output from the DVD , otherwise I always have to switch my Hi-Fi on to be able to watch anything, & the quality is not much better on AV channel on the TV.

Thankyou.

Tibor.

South Africa.

Sounds like if you are getting the right Video and not audio then the audio are hooked in wrong. Unless you are on SAP (Second audio program) in this case take it off of Sap. If you are getting the sound that you are looking at once you change channels to view another program, then it should be easy. Just change audio jacks back to AV1, 2, 3 etc depending on which one you are using. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: No sound when watching TV

I would check all cables to make sure they are connected properly and secure, also check the cables for any defects ie bent pins, frays in wiring, etc. and check all connectors on the front or back of your tv (which ever way you have it hooked up) to make sure they are not loose or damaged first. 2. I know you can connect your dvd properly, but I have to suggest it anyway, go back through the manual and make sure all settings are properly set.
3. You may need to update your firmware, which you can find instructions in pdf at this link it will be the 6th link down in pdf. I tried finding your device on the manufacturer's website, but you need the model number, I will include that link as well. Since it only 6 months old, it should still be under warranty so I would check into that as most usually have 1 year warranty. If all else fails, it might be something internal with the dvd recorder and you will have to get another one or take yours to a repair shop, but if you do take it to a repair shop make sure it is one that is reputable and trust worthy. I hope this helps you out and I am sorry I could not be more specific on the problem.

I had this problem, it was solved by reformatting the hard-drive.

NOTE: if you do this, all settings and all that is saved on the harddrive is lost. But seeing that you can't start it anyway, that is acceptable, right? :)

Anyway, here's how you do it, according to Philips support:

  1. Pull out the power cord from the socket.
  2. Press and hold PREV and STOP (i.e. left and down) on the front panel.
  3. Plug the power cord into the socket again.
  4. Wait until the front panel says "FMT KEY" to let go of the buttons. Wait for it to finish formatting, upon which you will get "-- --" on the panel.
Restart the box and you should now end up at a screen asking you to set the language for the box, as if being started for the first time ever.

Also of note: if you want to restore the firmware to factory settings, Philips support told me to pull the cord, press and hold the STANDBY button, and plug it back in again. For the looping problem though, I didn't need that.

I delete file`s that i still needed

you can't recover files that may have been permanently deleted, unless the device has a Recycle Bin like a desktop computer. However, there are certain devices that come with a .trashes folder where deleted files are stored. yuo can recover them through that.

The DVDR3570H will only find analogue channels if you have a TV aerial connected to it.

If you only have a satellite or cable box, then you can still use the recorder, but you will have to use the AV inputs on the recorder. In this case you will only be able to record the satellite or cable channel you are watching.

Hard drive shows full even after erasing 120 hours.

You should empty the recycled bin in the system and delete all temporary files on it.
