Re: Not all shelves freezing Alarm on
If this is not a frost free unit. I say replace it. I don't believe in recharging a deep freeze. You can never really trust them again. The food inside is worth more than the freezer. If this is a frost free unit, See if the fan inside is working. This can also be a defrost system proplem such as a timer and well worth fixing.

Is the compressor running? if it is running, but there is no cooling, it is time to buy a new freezer.
If the compressor is NOT running, I would suspect the compressor start relay.
How did you defrost it?
Is it running? You might need to put your ear up to machine, to hear it, They run very quitely. If not running, could be a bad cold control (thermostat), or defective relay and overload mounted on the compressor body. If the compressor is running but no cooling, then you're in serious trouble unless, The unit is 5 years old or newer. In that case you have factory warranty on what is called the sealed system. Contact the dealer in that case for service. Service should be free.
low on freon. buy new . as freon level drops , ability to feed all shelves falls off. the last shelf to freeze is usually the first one to not freeze ,as charge goes away. time for new, cost to fix to great.
I experienced the same problem last week with my freezer. Apparently the change in temperature during defrosting allows the blade locking mechanism to slide on the motor shaft during the spinning operation. The blade pulls itself along the shaft until it comes in contact with the motor mounting bolt. If your freezer just stops getting super cold, but remains cool and you don't hear the fan spinning, remove the inside back panel and check the fan blades for freedom of movement. I almost disposed of the freezer this past week but decided to make one last check of the mechanisms.
The compressor is overheating and not starting. Could be just the start relay. If this happens again try unplugging it for about an hour then it should work for a while. Heat between doors is normal this is an electric heater designed to keep the doors from sweating. You just noticed it because the refrigerator wasn't cold.
