Question about Brother MFC-8220 Fax
Ext tel in use on all the time. unless I unplug the phone line
Is the hand set on correctly? (unlplug it if you can)
make sure the phone line is plugged into the LINE port.
Unplug the power cord for 10 seconds.

That message means that a telephone "somewhere" has access
the line that the FAX is plugged into BEFORE the fax. The most likely cause is
an extension phone or maybe a computer modem (if you still use a phone modem)
